¹⁰ This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: ^(A)Every male child among you shall be circumcised;

^8 (A)Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; ^(B)and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; ^(C)and Isaac begot Jacob, and ^(D)Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.

Not Legalism but Christ

¹¹ In Him you were also ^(A)circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by ^(B)putting off the body ^[a]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, ^12 (C)buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through ^(D)faith in the working of God, ^(E)who raised Him from the dead.

Abraham Justified Before Circumcision

⁹ Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. ¹⁰ How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. ¹¹ And ^(A)he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that ^(B)he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also,

³ For we are ^(A)the circumcision, ^(B)who worship ^[a]God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

Brought Near by His Blood

¹¹ Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called ^(A)the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—

¹² As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, ^(A)only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

³ And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised ^(A)that he is ^[a]a debtor to keep the whole law. ^4 (B)You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; ^(C)you have fallen from grace. ⁵ For we through the Spirit eagerly ^(D)wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. ⁶ For ^(E)in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but ^(F)faith working through love.

^28 (A)There is neither Jew nor Greek, ^(B)there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all ^(C)one in Christ Jesus.
