¹⁶ And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for ^(A)the iniquity of the Amorites ^(B)is not yet complete.”

²⁶ He acted very abominably in going after ^(A)idols, as ^(B)the Amorites had done, whom the Lord cast out before the people of Israel.)

²³ And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a king of bold face, one who understands riddles, shall arise.

^32 (A)Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. ³³ You serpents, ^(B)you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to ^(C)hell? ^34 (D)Therefore ^(E)I send you ^(F)prophets and wise men and ^(G)scribes, ^(H)some of whom you will kill and crucify, and ^(I)some you will ^(J)flog in your synagogues and ^(K)persecute from town to town, ³⁵ so that on you may come all ^(L)the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous ^(M)Abel to the blood of ^(N)Zechariah the son of Barachiah,^[a] whom you murdered between ^(O)the sanctuary and ^(P)the altar.

^16 (A)by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always ^(B)to fill up the measure of their sins. But ^(C)wrath has come upon them at last!^[a]

⁴⁰ The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years.

⁸ But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and ^(A)a thousand years as one day. ^9 (B)The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise ^(C)as some count slowness, but ^(D)is patient toward you,^{[a] (E)}not wishing that any should perish, but ^(F)that all should reach repentance.

A Vision of a Woman in a Basket

^5 (A)Then the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, ^(B)“Lift your eyes and see what this is that is going out.” ⁶ And I said, “What is it?” He said, “This is ^(C)the basket^[a] that is going out.” And he said, “This is their iniquity^[b] in all the land.” ⁷ And behold, the leaden cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting in the basket! ⁸ And he said, “This is Wickedness.” And he thrust her back into the basket, and thrust down ^(D)the leaden weight on its opening.

⁹ Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, two women coming forward! ^(E)The wind was in their wings. They had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and heaven. ¹⁰ Then I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they taking the basket?” ¹¹ He said to me, “To the ^(F)land of Shinar, to build a house for it. And when this is prepared, they will set the basket down there on its base.”
