¹⁰ And he brought him all these, ^(A)cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But ^(B)he did not cut the birds in half.

¹⁸ And the men who transgressed my covenant and did not keep the terms of ^(A)the covenant that they made before me, I will make them like^{[a] (B)}the calf that they cut in two and passed between its parts— ¹⁹ the officials of Judah, the officials of Jerusalem, ^(C)the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf.

¹⁷ He shall tear it open by its wings, but ^(A)shall not sever it completely. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

¹⁷ When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.

¹⁵ Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,^[a] a worker ^(A)who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
