⁸ Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) went out, and they joined battle in the Valley of Siddim

²² Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called ^(A)Zoar.^[a]

²⁰ Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!”

¹⁰ And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the ^(A)Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like ^(B)the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of ^(C)Zoar. (This was before the Lord ^(D)destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)

¹⁰ Now the Valley of Siddim was full of ^(A)bitumen pits, and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some fell into them, and the rest fled ^(B)to the hill country.

² these kings made war with ^(A)Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of ^(B)Admah, Shemeber king of ^(C)Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). ³ And all these joined forces in the Valley of Siddim (^(D)that is, the Salt Sea).
