¹⁴ When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, ^(A)born in his house, 318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as ^(B)Dan.

²⁹ And they named the city ^(A)Dan, after the name of Dan their ancestor, who was born to Israel; but ^(B)the name of the city was Laish at the first.

³ And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and ^(A)a member of my household will be my heir.”
