¹³ Then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew, ^(A)who was living by the ^(B)oaks^[a] of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and of Aner. These were allies of Abram.

¹⁸ So Abram moved his tent and came and ^(A)settled by the ^(B)oaks^[a] of Mamre, which ^(C)are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

²⁴ I will take nothing but what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me. Let ^(A)Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre take their share.”

¹⁵ For ^(A)I was indeed stolen out of the land of the Hebrews, and ^(B)here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the pit.”

^5 (A)Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,^[a]

²² Are they Hebrews? ^(A)So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham? So am I.

⁹ And he said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear ^(A)the Lord, the God of heaven, ^(B)who made the sea and the dry land.”

¹⁵ and ^(A)the Sabeans fell upon them and took them and struck down the servants^[a] with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
