^10 (B)This is the genealogy of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood.

¹⁷ The sons of ^(A)Shem were Elam, Asshur, ^(B)Arphaxad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and ^[a]Meshech. ¹⁸ Arphaxad begot Shelah, and Shelah begot Eber. ¹⁹ To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was ^[b]Peleg, for in his days the ^[c]earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan. ^20 (C)Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, ²¹ Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, ^22 [d]Ebal, Abimael, Sheba, ²³ Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

^24 (D)Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah, ^25 (E)Eber, Peleg, Reu, ²⁶ Serug, Nahor, Terah, ²⁷ and ^(F)Abram, who is Abraham.
