⁶ By the word^(A) of the Lord the heavens were made,^(B)
    their starry host^(C) by the breath of his mouth.

¹⁸ can you join him in spreading out the skies,^(A)
    hard as a mirror of cast bronze?^(B)

⁷ He spreads out the northern skies^(A) over empty space;
    he suspends the earth over nothing.^(B)
8 He wraps up the waters^(C) in his clouds,^(D)
    yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.

¹⁵ “He made the earth by his power;
    he founded the world by his wisdom^(A)
    and stretched^(B) out the heavens by his understanding.^(C)

¹² But God made^(A) the earth^(B) by his power;
    he founded the world by his wisdom^(C)
    and stretched out the heavens^(D) by his understanding.
¹³ When he thunders,^(E) the waters in the heavens roar;
    he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He sends lightning^(F) with the rain^(G)
    and brings out the wind from his storehouses.^(H)

² The Lord wraps^(A) himself in light^(B) as with a garment;
    he stretches^(C) out the heavens^(D) like a tent^(E)

⁹ For he spoke, and it came to be;
    he commanded,^(A) and it stood firm.

⁴ Praise him, you highest heavens^(A)
    and you waters above the skies.^(B)
