And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated [a]the light from the darkness.

And God called the Light, Day, and the darkness he called Night. [b]So the evening and the morning were the first day.

¶ Again God said, (A)Let there be a [c]firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.

Then God made the firmament, and separated the waters, which were [d]under the firmament, from the waters which were (B)above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament, [e]Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

¶ God said again, (C)Let the waters under the heaven be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
