²⁶ Then God said, “Let us make humans^[a] in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over the cattle and over all the wild animals of the earth^[b] and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”^(A)

¹⁰ and have clothed yourselves with the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its creator.^(A)

²⁴ and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.^(A)

²² Then the Lord God said, “See, the humans have become like one of us, knowing good and evil, and now they might reach out their hands and take also from the tree of life and eat and live forever”^(A)—

Adam’s Descendants to Noah and His Sons

5 This is the list of the descendants of Adam. When God created humans,^[a] he made them^[b] in the likeness of God.^(A)

¹⁸ And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.^(A)

² The fear and dread of you shall rest on every animal of the earth and on every bird of the air, on everything that creeps on the ground and on all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered. ³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you, and just as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.^{(A) 4} Only, you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.^(B)
