¹² The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good.

²⁸ The earth produces of itself first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head.

⁴⁴ for each tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a bramble bush.^(A)

⁷ Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.^(A)

¹⁰ He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.^[a]

The Parable of Weeds among the Wheat

²⁴ He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field,^{(A) 25} but while everybody was asleep an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and then went away. ²⁶ So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well.
