8 Dieu se souvint de Noé, de tous les animaux et de tout le bétail qui étaient avec lui dans l'arche; et Dieu fit passer un vent sur la terre, et les eaux s'apaisèrent.
2 Les sources de l'abîme et les écluses des cieux furent fermées, et la pluie ne tomba plus du ciel.
3 Les eaux se retirèrent de dessus la terre, s'en allant et s'éloignant, et les eaux diminuèrent au bout de cent cinquante jours.
4 Le septième mois, le dix-septième jour du mois, l'arche s'arrêta sur les montagnes d'Ararat.
5 Les eaux allèrent en diminuant jusqu'au dixième mois. Le dixième mois, le premier jour du mois, apparurent les sommets des montagnes.
6 Au bout de quarante jours, Noé ouvrit la fenêtre qu'il avait faite à l'arche.
7 Il lâcha le corbeau, qui sortit, partant et revenant, jusqu'à ce que les eaux eussent séché sur la terre.
8 Il lâcha aussi la colombe, pour voir si les eaux avaient diminué à la surface de la terre.
9 Mais la colombe ne trouva aucun lieu pour poser la plante de son pied, et elle revint à lui dans l'arche, car il y avait des eaux à la surface de toute la terre. Il avança la main, la prit, et la fit rentrer auprès de lui dans l'arche.
10 Il attendit encore sept autres jours, et il lâcha de nouveau la colombe hors de l'arche.
11 La colombe revint à lui sur le soir; et voici, une feuille d'olivier arrachée était dans son bec. Noé connut ainsi que les eaux avaient diminué sur la terre.
12 Il attendit encore sept autres jours; et il lâcha la colombe. Mais elle ne revint plus à lui.
13 L'an six cent un, le premier mois, le premier jour du mois, les eaux avaient séché sur la terre. Noé ôta la couverture de l'arche: il regarda, et voici, la surface de la terre avait séché.
14 Le second mois, le vingt-septième jour du mois, la terre fut sèche.
15 Alors Dieu parla à Noé, en disant:
16 Sors de l'arche, toi et ta femme, tes fils et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.
17 Fais sortir avec toi tous les animaux de toute chair qui sont avec toi, tant les oiseaux que le bétail et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre: qu'ils se répandent sur la terre, qu'ils soient féconds et multiplient sur la terre.
18 Et Noé sortit, avec ses fils, sa femme, et les femmes de ses fils.
19 Tous les animaux, tous les reptiles, tous les oiseaux, tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, selon leurs espèces, sortirent de l'arche.
20 Noé bâtit un autel à l'Éternel; il prit de toutes les bêtes pures et de tous les oiseaux purs, et il offrit des holocaustes sur l'autel.
21 L'Éternel sentit une odeur agréable, et l'Éternel dit en son coeur: Je ne maudirai plus la terre, à cause de l'homme, parce que les pensées du coeur de l'homme sont mauvaises dès sa jeunesse; et je ne frapperai plus tout ce qui est vivant, comme je l'ai fait.
22 Tant que la terre subsistera, les semailles et la moisson, le froid et la chaleur, l'été et l'hiver, le jour et la nuit ne cesseront point.

L'abbassamento delle acque
8 Dio si ricordò di Noè, di tutte le fiere e di tutti gli animali domestici che erano con lui nell'arca. Dio fece passare un vento sulla terra e le acque si abbassarono. 2 Le fonti dell'abisso e le cateratte del cielo furono chiuse e fu trattenuta la pioggia dal cielo; 3 le acque andarono via via ritirandosi dalla terra e calarono dopo centocinquanta giorni. 4 Nel settimo mese, il diciasette del mese, l'arca si posò sui monti dell'Ararat. 5 Le acque andarono via via diminuendo fino al decimo mese. Nel decimo mese, il primo giorno del mese, apparvero le cime dei monti.
6 Trascorsi quaranta giorni, Noè aprì la finestra che aveva fatta nell'arca e fece uscire un corvo per vedere se le acque si fossero ritirate. 7 Esso uscì andando e tornando finché si prosciugarono le acque sulla terra. 8 Noè poi fece uscire una colomba, per vedere se le acque si fossero ritirate dal suolo; 9 ma la colomba, non trovando dove posare la pianta del piede, tornò a lui nell'arca, perché c'era ancora l'acqua su tutta la terra. Egli stese la mano, la prese e la fece rientrare presso di sé nell'arca. 10 Attese altri sette giorni e di nuovo fece uscire la colomba dall'arca 11 e la colomba tornò a lui sul far della sera; ecco, essa aveva nel becco un ramoscello di ulivo. Noè comprese che le acque si erano ritirate dalla terra. 12 Aspettò altri sette giorni, poi lasciò andare la colomba; essa non tornò più da lui.
13 L'anno seicentouno della vita di Noè, il primo mese, il primo giorno del mese, le acque si erano prosciugate sulla terra; Noè tolse la copertura dell'arca ed ecco la superficie del suolo era asciutta. 14 Nel secondo mese, il ventisette del mese, tutta la terra fu asciutta.
L'uscita dall'arca
15 Dio ordinò a Noè: 16 «Esci dall'arca tu e tua moglie, i tuoi figli e le mogli dei tuoi figli con te. 17 Tutti gli animali d'ogni specie che hai con te, uccelli, bestiame e tutti i rettili che strisciano sulla terra, falli uscire con te, perché possano diffondersi sulla terra, siano fecondi e si moltiplichino su di essa».
18 Noè uscì con i figli, la moglie e le mogli dei figli. 19 Tutti i viventi e tutto il bestiame e tutti gli uccelli e tutti i rettili che strisciano sulla terra, secondo la loro specie, uscirono dall'arca. 20 Allora Noè edificò un altare al Signore; prese ogni sorta di animali mondi e di uccelli mondi e offrì olocausti sull'altare. 21 Il Signore ne odorò la soave fragranza e pensò: «Non maledirò più il suolo a causa dell'uomo, perché l'istinto del cuore umano è incline al male fin dalla adolescenza; né colpirò più ogni essere vivente come ho fatto.
22 Finché durerà la terra,
seme e messe,
freddo e caldo,
estate e inverno,
giorno e notte
non cesseranno».

Nel decimo mese, il primo giorno del mese, apparvero le vette dei monti.
6 Dopo quaranta giorni, Noè aprí la finestra che aveva fatta nell'arca 7 e mandò fuori il corvo, il quale uscí, andando e tornando, finché le acque furono prosciugate sulla terra. 8 Poi mandò fuori la colomba per vedere se le acque fossero diminuite sulla superficie della terra. 9 La colomba non trovò dove posare la pianta del suo piede e tornò a lui nell'arca, perché c'erano le acque sulla superficie di tutta la terra; ed egli stese la mano, la prese e la portò con sé dentro l'arca. 10 Aspettò altri sette giorni, poi mandò di nuovo la colomba fuori dell'arca. 11 E la colomba tornò da lui verso sera; ed ecco, aveva nel becco una foglia fresca d'ulivo. Cosí Noè capí che le acque erano diminuite sopra la terra. 12 Aspettò altri sette giorni, poi mandò fuori la colomba; ma essa non tornò piú da lui.
13 L'anno seicentouno della vita di Noè, il primo mese, il primo giorno del mese, le acque erano asciugate sulla terra e Noè scoperchiò l'arca, guardò, ed ecco che la superficie del suolo era asciutta. 14 Il secondo mese, il ventisettesimo giorno del mese, la terra era asciutta.
15 (B)Dio parlò allora a Noè dicendo: 16 «Esci dall'arca tu, tua moglie, i tuoi figli e le mogli dei tuoi figli con te. 17 Tutti gli animali che sono con te, di ogni specie[b], volatili, bestiame e tutti i rettili che strisciano sulla terra, falli uscire con te, perché possano disseminarsi sulla terra, siano fecondi e si moltiplichino su di essa». 18 Noè uscí con i suoi figli, con sua moglie e con le mogli dei suoi figli. 19 Tutti gli animali, tutti i rettili, tutti gli uccelli, tutto quello che si muove sulla terra, secondo le loro famiglie, uscirono dall'arca.
20 Noè costruí un altare al Signore; prese animali puri di ogni specie e uccelli puri di ogni specie e offrí olocausti sull'altare. 21 Il Signore sentí un odore soave; e il Signore disse in cuor suo: «Io non maledirò piú la terra a motivo dell'uomo, poiché il cuore dell'uomo concepisce disegni malvagi fin dall'adolescenza; non colpirò piú ogni essere vivente come ho fatto. 22 Finché la terra durerà, semina e raccolta, freddo e caldo, estate e inverno, giorno e notte, non cesseranno mai».

8 But God remembered(A) Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth,(B) and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens(C) had been closed, and the rain(D) had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days(E) the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month(F) the ark came to rest on the mountains(G) of Ararat.(H) 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.
6 After forty days(I) Noah opened a window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven,(J) and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.(K) 8 Then he sent out a dove(L) to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.(M) 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.
13 By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year,(N) the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. 14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month(O) the earth was completely dry.
15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.(P) 17 Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.”(Q)
18 So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.(R) 19 All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord(S) and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean(T) birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings(U) on it. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma(V) and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground(W) because of humans, even though[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood.(X) And never again will I destroy(Y) all living creatures,(Z) as I have done.

5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
