7 Certainement, si tu agis bien, tu te relèveras. Si en revanche tu agis mal, le péché est couché à la porte et ses désirs se portent vers toi, mais c’est à toi de dominer sur lui.»
8 Cependant, Caïn dit à son frère Abel: «Allons dans les champs» et, alors qu'ils étaient dans les champs, il se jeta sur lui et le tua.
9 L'Eternel dit à Caïn: «Où est ton frère Abel?» Il répondit: «Je ne sais pas. Suis-je le gardien de mon frère?»

8 Mais Caïn dit à son frère Abel : Allons aux champs[a].
Et lorsqu’ils furent dans les champs, Caïn se jeta sur son frère Abel et le tua[b].
9 Alors l’Eternel demanda à Caïn : Où est ton frère Abel ?
– Je n’en sais rien, répondit-il. Suis-je le gardien de mon frère ?

7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;(A) it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.(B)”
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.(C)
9 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”(D)
“I don’t know,(E)” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
