²⁰The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits.^[a]^[b] ^(A)

²⁰Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

²³Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills^(A)
and mountains is a deception;
surely in the Lord our God
is the salvation^(B) of Israel.

²³Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.

⁶You covered it^(A) with the watery depths^(B) as with a garment;
the waters stood^(C) above the mountains.

⁶Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
