Then she said, “Here is my maid Bilhah; go in to her, that she may bear upon my knees and that I too may have children through her.”(A) So she gave him her maid Bilhah as a wife, and Jacob went in to her.(B) And Bilhah conceived and bore Jacob a son. Then Rachel said, “God has judged me and has also heard my voice and given me a son”; therefore she named him Dan.[a](C) Rachel’s maid Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son. Then Rachel said, “With mighty wrestlings I have wrestled with my sister and have prevailed,” so she named him Naphtali.[b](D)

So she gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife.(D) Jacob slept with her,(E) and she became pregnant and bore him a son. Then Rachel said, “God has vindicated me;(F) he has listened to my plea and given me a son.”(G) Because of this she named him Dan.[a](H)

Rachel’s servant Bilhah(I) conceived again and bore Jacob a second son. Then Rachel said, “I have had a great struggle with my sister, and I have won.”(J) So she named him Naphtali.[b](K)
