46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

47 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

Joseph in Charge of Egypt

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”(F) 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring(G) from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes(H) of fine linen(I) and put a gold chain around his neck.(J) 43 He had him ride in a chariot(K) as his second-in-command,[a](L) and people shouted before him, “Make way[b]!”(M) Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.(N)

44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.”(O) 45 Pharaoh gave Joseph(P) the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest(Q) of On,[c](R) to be his wife.(S) And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt.

46 Joseph was thirty years old(T) when he entered the service(U) of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt. 47 During the seven years of abundance(V) the land produced plentifully. 48 Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities.(W) In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it.
