32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

33 And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent.

34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images.

32 But if you find anyone who has your gods, that person shall not live.(A) In the presence of our relatives, see for yourself whether there is anything of yours here with me; and if so, take it.” Now Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen the gods.(B)

33 So Laban went into Jacob’s tent and into Leah’s tent(C) and into the tent of the two female servants,(D) but he found nothing.(E) After he came out of Leah’s tent, he entered Rachel’s tent. 34 Now Rachel had taken the household gods(F) and put them inside her camel’s saddle(G) and was sitting on them. Laban searched(H) through everything in the tent but found nothing.

35 Rachel said to her father, “Don’t be angry, my lord, that I cannot stand up in your presence;(I) I’m having my period.(J)” So he searched but could not find the household gods.(K)
