⁹ and when James and Cephas and John, ^(A)who seemed to be ^(B)pillars, perceived the ^(C)grace that was given to me, they ^(D)gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Gifts of Grace

³ For ^(A)by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you ^(B)not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, ^(C)each according to ^(D)the measure of faith that God has assigned.

^12 (A)The one who conquers, I will make him ^(B)a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him ^(C)the name of my God, and ^(D)the name of the city of my God, ^(E)the new Jerusalem, ^(F)which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own ^(G)new name.

² I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those ^(A)who seemed influential) the gospel that ^(B)I proclaim among the Gentiles, ^(C)in order to make sure I was not running or had not ^(D)run in vain.

⁵ through whom ^(A)we have received grace and ^(B)apostleship ^(C)to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name ^(D)among all the nations,

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve ^(A)foundations, and ^(B)on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

¹⁵ And the one who spoke with me ^(C)had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. ¹⁶ The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia.^[a] Its length and width and height are equal. ¹⁷ He also measured its wall, 144 cubits^[b] by ^(D)human measurement, which is also ^(E)an angel's measurement. ¹⁸ The wall was built of ^(F)jasper, while the city was pure gold, like ^(G)clear glass. ^19 (H)The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

^3 (A)that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed ^(B)our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

⁸ To me, ^(A)though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, ^(B)to preach to the Gentiles the ^(C)unsearchable ^(D)riches of Christ,

⁶ And from those ^(A)who seemed to be influential (what they were makes no difference to me; ^(B)God shows no partiality)—those, I say, who seemed influential ^(C)added nothing to me. ⁷ On the contrary, when they saw that I had been ^(D)entrusted with ^(E)the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised
