Paul Called by God

11 For (A)I make known to you, brothers, that the gospel which I am proclaiming as good news is (B)not according to man. 12 For (C)I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a (D)revelation of Jesus Christ.

13 For you have heard of (E)my former conduct in Judaism, how I (F)used to persecute (G)the church of God beyond measure and (H)tried to destroy it. 14 And I (I)was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being far more zealous for the traditions of my (J)fathers. 15 But when God, who had set me apart from my mother’s womb and (K)called me through His grace, was pleased 16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might (L)proclaim Him as good news among the Gentiles, (M)I did not immediately consult with [a](N)flesh and blood, 17 (O)nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to (P)Damascus.

18 Then (Q)three years later I went up (R)to Jerusalem to [b]become acquainted with (S)Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days. 19 But I did not see any other of the apostles except [c](T)James, the Lord’s brother. 20 (Now in what I am writing to you, [d]I assure you (U)before God that I am not lying!) 21 Then (V)I went into the regions of (W)Syria and (X)Cilicia. 22 And I was still unknown by [e]sight to (Y)the churches of Judea which are (Z)in Christ; 23 but only, they kept hearing, “He who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of (AA)the faith which he once (AB)tried to destroy.” 24 And they (AC)were glorifying God [f]because of me.

11 For I make known to you, brethren, as touching the [a]gospel which was [b]preached by me, that it is not after man. 12 For neither did I receive it from [c]man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havoc of it: 14 and I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of mine own age [d]among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, even from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace, 16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might [e]preach him among the Gentiles; straightway I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 neither went I up to Jerusalem to them that were apostles before me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to [f]visit Cephas, and tarried with him fifteen days. 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, [g]save [h]James the Lord’s brother. 20 Now touching the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. 21 Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22 And I was still unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: 23 but they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now [i]preacheth the faith of which he once made havoc; 24 and they glorified God in me.
