Galatians 1

Greeting
1 From Paul, an apostle who is not sent from human authority or commissioned through human agency, but sent through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead; 2 and from all the brothers and sisters with me.
To the churches in Galatia.
3 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 He gave himself for our sins, so he could deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. 5 To God be the glory forever and always! Amen.
The gospel challenged in Galatia
6 I’m amazed that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ to follow another gospel. 7 It’s not really another gospel, but certain people are confusing you and they want to change the gospel of Christ. 8 However, even if we ourselves or a heavenly angel should ever preach anything different from what we preached to you, they should be under a curse. 9 I’m repeating what we’ve said before: if anyone preaches something different from what you received, they should be under a curse!

10 Am I trying to win over human beings or God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I wouldn’t be Christ’s slave. 11 Brothers and sisters, I want you to know that the gospel I preached isn’t human in origin. 12 I didn’t receive it or learn it from a human. It came through a revelation from Jesus Christ.
13 You heard about my previous life in Judaism, how severely I harassed God’s church and tried to destroy it. 14 I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my peers, because I was much more militant about the traditions of my ancestors. 15 But God had set me apart from birth and called me through his grace. He was pleased 16 to reveal his Son to me, so that I might preach about him to the Gentiles. I didn’t immediately consult with any human being. 17 I didn’t go up to Jerusalem to see the men who were apostles before me either, but I went away into Arabia and I returned again to Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days. 19 But I didn’t see any other of the apostles except James the brother of the Lord. 20 Before God, I’m not lying about the things that I’m writing to you! 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia, 22 but I wasn’t known personally by the Christian churches in Judea. 23 They only heard a report about me: “The man who used to harass us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy.” 24 So they were glorifying God because of me.

1 ¶ Pablo, apóstol, no de los hombres ni por hombre, sino por Jesús, el Cristo, y Dios el Padre, que lo resucitó de los muertos,
2 y todos los hermanos que están conmigo, a las Iglesias de Galacia:
3 Gracia sea a vosotros, y paz de Dios el Padre, y del Señor nuestro, Jesús el Cristo,
4 El cual se dio a sí mismo por nuestros pecados para librarnos de este presente siglo malo, conforme a la voluntad del Dios y Padre nuestro,
5 al cual es la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
6 ¶ Estoy maravillado de que tan pronto os hayáis traspasado del que os llamó en la gracia de Cristo, a otro evangelio;
7 aunque no hay otro, sino que hay algunos que os inquietan, y quieren pervertir el Evangelio del Cristo.
8 Mas aun si nosotros o un ángel del cielo os anunciare otro Evangelio del que os hemos anunciado, sea anatema.
9 Como antes hemos dicho, también ahora lo decimos otra vez: Si alguno os anunciare otro Evangelio del que habéis recibido, sea anatema.
10 ¶ Porque, ¿persuado yo ahora a hombres o a Dios? ¿O busco agradar a los hombres? Cierto, que si todavía agradara a los hombres, no sería esclavo de Cristo.
11 Mas os hago saber, hermanos, que el Evangelio que ha sido anunciado por mí, no es según hombre;
12 ni yo lo recibí, ni aprendí de hombre, sino por revelación de Jesús, el Cristo.
13 Porque ya habéis oído acerca de mi conducta en otro tiempo en el judaísmo, que perseguía sobremanera la Iglesia de Dios, y la destruía;
14 y aprovechaba en el Judaísmo sobre muchos de mis iguales en mi nación, siendo mucho más celoso que todos de las tradiciones de mis padres.
15 Mas cuando quiso Dios, que me apartó desde el vientre de mi madre, y me llamó por su gracia,
16 revelar a su Hijo en mí, para que le predicara entre los gentiles, luego no consulté con carne y sangre;
17 ni fui a Jerusalén a los que eran apóstoles antes que yo; sino que me fui a Arabia, y volví de nuevo a Damasco.
18 Después, pasados tres años, fui a Jerusalén a ver a Pedro, y estuve con él quince días.
19 Mas a ningún otro de los apóstoles vi, sino a Jacobo, el hermano del Señor.
20 Y en esto que os escribo, he aquí delante de Dios, que no miento.
21 Después fui a las partes de Siria y de Cilicia;
22 y no era conocido de vista a las Iglesias de Judea, que eran en el Cristo;
23 solamente habían oído decir: Aquel que en otro tiempo nos perseguía, ahora anuncia la fe que en otro tiempo destruía.
24 Y glorificaban a Dios por mí.
