4 But when the set time had fully come,(A) God sent his Son,(B) born of a woman,(C) born under the law,(D) 5 to redeem(E) those under the law, that we might receive adoption(F) to sonship.[a](G)

24 “Then from his presence (A)the hand was sent, and this writing was inscribed. 25 And this is the writing that was inscribed: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin. 26 This is the interpretation of the matter: Mene, God has numbered[a] the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end; 27 Tekel, (B)you have been weighed[b] in the balances and found wanting; 28 Peres, your kingdom is divided and given to (C)the Medes and (D)Persians.”[c]
29 Then (E)Belshazzar gave the command, and Daniel (F)was clothed with purple, a chain of gold was put around his neck, and a proclamation was made about him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
30 (G)That very night (H)Belshazzar the (I)Chaldean king was killed. 31 [d] And (J)Darius (K)the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

mene, mene, tekel, parsin
26 “Here is what these words mean:
Mene[a]: God has numbered the days(A) of your reign and brought it to an end.(B)
27 Tekel[b]: You have been weighed on the scales(C) and found wanting.(D)
28 Peres[c]: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes(E) and Persians.”(F)
29 Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck,(G) and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.(H)
30 That very night Belshazzar,(I) king(J) of the Babylonians,[d] was slain,(K) 31 and Darius(L) the Mede(M) took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.[e]
