6 Frères, si un homme vient à être surpris en quelque faute, vous qui êtes spirituels, redressez-le avec un esprit de douceur. Prends garde à toi-même, de peur que tu ne sois aussi tenté.
2 Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et vous accomplirez ainsi la loi de Christ.
3 Si quelqu'un pense être quelque chose, quoiqu'il ne soit rien, il s'abuse lui-même.
4 Que chacun examine ses propres oeuvres, et alors il aura sujet de se glorifier pour lui seul, et non par rapport à autrui;
5 car chacun portera son propre fardeau.
6 Que celui à qui l'on enseigne la parole fasse part de tous ses biens à celui qui l'enseigne.
7 Ne vous y trompez pas: on ne se moque pas de Dieu. Ce qu'un homme aura semé, il le moissonnera aussi.
8 Celui qui sème pour sa chair moissonnera de la chair la corruption; mais celui qui sème pour l'Esprit moissonnera de l'Esprit la vie éternelle.
9 Ne nous lassons pas de faire le bien; car nous moissonnerons au temps convenable, si nous ne nous relâchons pas.
10 Ainsi donc, pendant que nous en avons l'occasion, pratiquons le bien envers tous, et surtout envers les frères en la foi.
11 Voyez avec quelles grandes lettres je vous ai écrit de ma propre main.
12 Tous ceux qui veulent se rendre agréables selon la chair vous contraignent à vous faire circoncire, uniquement afin de n'être pas persécutés pour la croix de Christ.
13 Car les circoncis eux-mêmes n'observent point la loi; mais ils veulent que vous soyez circoncis, pour se glorifier dans votre chair.
14 Pour ce qui me concerne, loin de moi la pensée de me glorifier d'autre chose que de la croix de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, par qui le monde est crucifié pour moi, comme je le suis pour le monde!
15 Car ce n'est rien que d'être circoncis ou incirconcis; ce qui est quelque chose, c'est d'être une nouvelle créature.
16 Paix et miséricorde sur tous ceux qui suivront cette règle, et sur l'Israël de Dieu!
17 Que personne désormais ne me fasse de la peine, car je porte sur mon corps les marques de Jésus.
18 Frères, que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ soit avec votre esprit! Amen!

6 Frères et sœurs, si quelqu’un s’est laissé surprendre par quelque faute[a], vous qui vivez selon l’Esprit, ramenez-le dans le droit chemin avec un esprit de douceur. Et toi qui interviens, fais attention de ne pas te laisser toi-même tenter.
2 Aidez-vous les uns les autres à porter vos fardeaux. De cette manière, vous accomplirez la loi de Christ.
3 Celui qui s’imagine être quelqu’un d’important – alors qu’en fait il n’est rien – s’abuse lui-même. 4 Que chacun examine ce qu’il accomplit lui-même. S’il y découvre quelque aspect louable, alors il pourra en éprouver de la fierté par rapport à lui-même et non pas par comparaison avec les autres, 5 car chacun aura à répondre pour lui-même de ses propres actions.
6 Que celui à qui l’on enseigne la Parole donne une part de tous ses biens à celui qui l’enseigne.
7 Ne vous faites pas d’illusions : Dieu ne se laisse pas traiter avec mépris. On récolte ce que l’on a semé. 8 Celui qui sème pour satisfaire ses propres désirs d’homme livré à lui-même récoltera ce que produit cet homme, c’est-à-dire la corruption. Mais celui qui sème pour l’Esprit moissonnera ce que produit l’Esprit : la vie éternelle.
9 Faisons le bien sans nous laisser gagner par le découragement. Car si nous ne relâchons pas nos efforts, nous récolterons au bon moment.
10 Ainsi donc, tant que nous en avons l’occasion, faisons du bien à tout le monde, et en premier lieu à ceux qui appartiennent à la famille des croyants.

11 Vous remarquez ces grandes lettres ; c’est bien de ma propre main que je vous écris. 12 Ceux qui vous imposent la circoncision sont des gens qui veulent faire bonne figure devant les hommes. Ils n’ont qu’un seul but : éviter d’être persécutés à cause de la mort de Christ sur la croix[b].
13 Car ceux qui pratiquent la circoncision, n’observent pas la Loi, eux non plus. S’ils veulent vous faire circoncire, c’est pour pouvoir se vanter de vous avoir imposé cette marque dans votre corps.
14 En ce qui me concerne, je ne veux à aucun prix placer ma fierté ailleurs que dans la mort de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ sur la croix. Par elle, en effet, le monde dominé par le mal a été crucifié pour moi, de même que moi je l’ai été pour ce monde. 15 Peu importe d’être circoncis ou non. Ce qui compte, c’est la nouvelle création[c].
16 Que la paix et la compassion de Dieu soient accordées à tous ceux qui suivent cette règle de vie, et à l’Israël de Dieu.
17 Désormais, que personne ne me cause plus de peine, car je porte sur mon corps les cicatrices des blessures que j’ai reçues pour la cause de Jésus.
18 Chers frères et sœurs, que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec vous tous.

6 Brethren, if any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.
2 Bear (endure, carry) one another’s burdens and [a]troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete [b]what is lacking [in your obedience to it].
3 For if any person thinks himself to be somebody [too important to condescend to shoulder another’s load] when he is nobody [of superiority except in his own estimation], he deceives and deludes and cheats himself.
4 But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [[c]in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor.
5 For every person will have to bear ([d]be equal to understanding and calmly receive) his own [[e]little] load [f][of oppressive faults].
6 Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support].
7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked [g]by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and [h]that only is what he will reap.
8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
10 So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [[i]morally] to all people [not only [j]being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers].
11 See with what large letters I am writing with my own hand. [[k]Mark carefully these closing words of mine.]
12 Those who want to make a good impression and a fine show in the flesh would try to compel you to receive circumcision, simply so that they may escape being persecuted for allegiance to the cross of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
13 For even the circumcised [Jews] themselves do not [really] keep the Law, but they want to have you circumcised in order that they may glory in your flesh (your subjection to external rites).
14 But far be it from me to glory [in anything or anyone] except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) through Whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world!
15 For neither is circumcision [now] of any importance, nor uncircumcision, but [only] a new creation [the result of a new birth and a new nature in Christ Jesus, the Messiah].
16 Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule [who discipline themselves and regulate their lives by this principle], even upon the [true] Israel of God!(A)
17 From now on let no person trouble me [by [l]making it necessary for me to vindicate my apostolic authority and the divine truth of my Gospel], for I bear on my body the [brand] marks of the Lord Jesus [the wounds, scars, and other outward evidence of persecutions—these testify to His ownership of me]!
18 The grace (spiritual favor, blessing) of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah) be with your spirit, brethren. Amen (so be it).

Do Good to Everyone
6 Brothers and sisters, what if someone is caught in a sin? Then you who live by the Spirit should correct that person. Do it in a gentle way. But be careful. You could be tempted too. 2 Carry one another’s heavy loads. If you do, you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are somebody when they are nobody, they are fooling themselves. 4 Each person should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves. They won’t be comparing themselves to someone else. 5 Each person should carry their own load. 6 But those who are taught the word should share all good things with their teacher.
7 Don’t be fooled. You can’t outsmart God. A man gathers a crop from what he plants. 8 Some people plant to please their desires controlled by sin. From these desires they will harvest death. Others plant to please the Holy Spirit. From the Spirit they will harvest eternal life. 9 Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don’t give up. 10 So when we can do good to everyone, let us do it. Let’s try even harder to do good to the family of believers.
Not Circumcision but the New Creation
11 Look at the big letters I’m using as I write to you with my own hand!
12 Some people are worried about how things look on the outside. They are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do it for only one reason. They don’t want to suffer by being connected with the cross of Christ. 13 Even those who are circumcised don’t obey the law. But they want you to be circumcised. Then they can brag about what has been done to your body. 14 I never want to brag about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through that cross the ways of the world have been crucified as far as I am concerned. And I have been crucified as far as the ways of the world are concerned. 15 Circumcision and uncircumcision don’t mean anything. What really counts is that the new creation has come. 16 May peace and mercy be given to all who follow this rule. May peace and mercy be given to the Israel that belongs to God.
17 From now on, let no one cause trouble for me. My body has marks that show I belong to Jesus.
18 Brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
