¹⁶ But I say, ^(A)walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out ^(B)the desire of the flesh. ¹⁷ For ^(C)the flesh ^[a]sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, ^(D)so that you may not do the things that you ^[b]please.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. ¹⁵ Then ^(A)when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when ^(B)sin ^[a]is accomplished, it brings forth death.
