² Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill^[a] the law of Christ.^(A)

Please Others, Not Yourselves

15 We who are strong ought to put up with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.^(A)

¹⁴ And we urge you, brothers and sisters, to admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them.^(A)

³⁴ I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.^(A)

²¹ The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.

⁸ If you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well.^(A)

¹² “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.^(A)

¹³ For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters, only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence,^[a] but through love become enslaved to one another.^{(A) 14} For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”^(B)

⁵ “When you see the donkey of one who hates you struggling under its burden and you would hold back from setting it free, you must help to set it free.^(A)

¹⁴ So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.^{(A) 15} For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.^(B)
