⁵ to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that ^(A)the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

¹⁴ But when I saw that they were not straightforward about ^(A)the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter ^(B)before them all, ^(C)“If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, ^[a]why do you compel Gentiles to live as ^[b]Jews?

⁴ Now this I say ^(A)lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. ⁵ For ^(B)though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing ^[a]to see ^(C)your good order and the ^(D)steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

^6 (E)As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, ^7 (F)rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding ^[b]in it with thanksgiving.

⁸ Beware lest anyone ^[c]cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to ^(G)the tradition of men, according to the ^(H)basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

⁵ because of the hope ^(A)which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

¹⁶ Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?

Justification by Faith^(A)

3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you ^[a]that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed ^[b]among you as crucified? ² This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, ^(B)or by the hearing of faith?

Contend for the Faith

³ Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you ^(A)concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting ^(B)you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Their Conversion

¹³ For this reason we also thank God ^(A)without ceasing, because when you ^(B)received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it ^(C)not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively ^(D)works in you who believe.

¹³ In Him you also trusted, after you heard ^(A)the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, ^(B)you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
