Diná e os siquemitas
34 E saiu Diná, filha de Leia, que esta dera a Jacó, a ver as filhas da terra. 2 E Siquém, filho de Hamor, heveu, príncipe daquela terra, viu-a, e tomou-a, e deitou-se com ela, e humilhou-a. 3 E apegou-se a sua alma com Diná, filha de Jacó, e amou a moça, e falou afetuosamente à moça. 4 Falou também Siquém a Hamor, seu pai, dizendo: Toma-me esta por mulher. 5 Quando Jacó ouviu que fora contaminada Diná, sua filha, estavam os seus filhos no campo com o gado; e calou-se Jacó até que viessem. 6 E saiu Hamor, pai de Siquém, a Jacó, para falar com ele. 7 E vieram os filhos de Jacó do campo; e, ouvindo isso, entristeceram-se os varões e iraram-se muito, pois aquele fizera doidice em Israel, deitando-se com a filha de Jacó, o que não se devia fazer assim.
8 Então, falou Hamor com eles, dizendo: A alma de Siquém, meu filho, está namorada da vossa filha; dai-lha, peço-vos, por mulher. 9 Aparentai-vos conosco, dai-nos as vossas filhas e tomai as nossas filhas para vós; 10 e habitareis conosco; e a terra estará diante da vossa face; habitai, e negociai nela, e tomai possessão nela. 11 E disse Siquém ao pai dela e aos irmãos dela: Ache eu graça a vossos olhos e darei o que me disserdes. 12 Aumentai muito sobre mim o dote e a dádiva, e darei o que me disserdes; dai-me somente a moça por mulher.
13 Então, responderam os filhos de Jacó a Siquém e a Hamor, seu pai, enganosamente, e falaram, porquanto havia contaminado a Diná, sua irmã. 14 E disseram-lhes: Não podemos fazer isso, que déssemos a nossa irmã a um varão não circuncidado; porque isso seria uma vergonha para nós. 15 Nisso, porém, consentiremos a vós: se fordes como nós, que se circuncide todo macho entre vós; 16 então, dar-vos-emos as nossas filhas, e tomaremos nós as vossas filhas, e habitaremos convosco, e seremos um só povo. 17 Mas, se não nos ouvirdes e não vos circuncidardes, tomaremos a nossa filha e ir-nos-emos.
18 E suas palavras foram boas aos olhos de Hamor e aos olhos de Siquém, filho de Hamor. 19 E não tardou o jovem em fazer isto; porque a filha de Jacó lhe agradava, e ele era o mais honrado de toda a casa de seu pai. 20 Vieram, pois, Hamor e Siquém, seu filho, à porta da sua cidade e falaram aos varões da sua cidade, dizendo: 21 Estes varões são pacíficos conosco; portanto, habitarão nesta terra e negociarão nela; eis que a terra é larga de espaço diante da sua face; tomaremos nós as suas filhas por mulheres e lhes daremos as nossas filhas. 22 Mas somente consentirão aqueles varões habitar conosco, para que sejamos um só povo, se todo macho entre nós se circuncidar, como eles são circuncidados. 23 O seu gado, e as suas possessões, e todos os seus animais não serão nossos? Consintamos somente com eles, e habitarão conosco. 24 E deram ouvidos a Hamor e a Siquém, seu filho, todos os que saíam da porta da cidade; e foi circuncidado todo macho, de todos os que saíam pela porta da sua cidade.
A traição de Simeão e Levi
25 E aconteceu que, ao terceiro dia, quando estavam com a mais violenta dor, dois filhos de Jacó, Simeão e Levi, irmãos de Diná, tomaram cada um a sua espada, e entraram afoitamente na cidade, e mataram todo macho. 26 Mataram também a fio de espada a Hamor, e a seu filho Siquém; e tomaram Diná da casa de Siquém e saíram. 27 Vieram os filhos de Jacó aos mortos e saquearam a cidade, porquanto haviam contaminado a sua irmã. 28 As suas ovelhas, e as suas vacas, e os seus jumentos, e o que na cidade e o que no campo havia tomaram; 29 e toda a sua fazenda, e todos os seus meninos, e as suas mulheres levaram presos e despojaram-nos de tudo o que havia em casa. 30 Então, disse Jacó a Simeão e a Levi: Tendes-me turbado, fazendo-me cheirar mal entre os moradores desta terra, entre os cananeus e ferezeus; sendo eu pouco povo em número, ajuntar-se-ão, e ficarei destruído, eu e minha casa. 31 E eles disseram: Faria, pois, ele a nossa irmã, como a uma prostituta?

底娜受辱
34 一天，利亚给雅各所生的女儿底娜到外面去见当地的女子。 2 当地首领希未人哈抹的儿子示剑看到她，就抓住她，强行玷污了她。 3 他恋慕雅各的女儿底娜，就用甜言蜜语讨她欢心。 4 他求父亲哈抹为他说亲，把底娜娶过来。 5 消息传到雅各耳中时，他的儿子们正在田野放牧。他只好忍气吞声，等儿子们回来再作打算。 6 示剑的父亲哈抹来和雅各商议。 7 雅各的儿子们一听说这事，就从田野赶回来。大家都非常愤怒，因为示剑不该对以色列家做这丑事——玷污雅各的女儿。
8 哈抹跟他们商议说：“我儿子示剑爱慕你们家的女儿，请你们把女儿嫁给他吧！ 9 我们可以互相通婚，你们可以把女儿嫁给我们的儿子，也可以娶我们的女儿为妻。 10 你们可以在我们这里安顿下来，这片土地就在你们面前，住在这里做买卖、置产业吧。” 11 示剑对底娜的父亲和她的弟兄们说：“请你们恩待我，你们要什么，我都给你们。 12 只要你们答应把女儿嫁给我，无论你们要多少聘金和礼物，我必如数奉上。”
雅各之子计杀示剑人
13 雅各的儿子们因为示剑玷污了他们的妹妹底娜，就假意对示剑和他的父亲哈抹说： 14 “我们不能把妹妹嫁给没有受过割礼的人，这对我们是一种羞辱。 15 除非你们所有的男子都跟我们一样受割礼， 16 我们才能答应和你们通婚，共同生活，结成一个民族。 17 如果你们不肯这样做，我们就把妹妹带走。”
18 哈抹父子欣然答应。 19 示剑毫不迟延地照办，因为他热恋底娜。在哈抹家族中，他最受人尊重。 20 哈抹父子来到城门口，对那城的居民说： 21 “这些人跟我们相处和睦，就让他们在这里定居、做买卖吧。我们这里有足够的地方可以容纳他们，我们可以和他们通婚。 22 可是，他们有一个条件，就是要我们所有的男子和他们一样接受割礼，他们才答应和我们一起生活，结成一个民族。 23 到时候，他们的财产和牛羊等所有牲畜不全归我们了吗？我们同意他们吧，这样他们就会在我们这里定居。” 24 在城门进出的人听了哈抹父子的话，都表示赞同。于是，城里的男子都接受了割礼。
25 到了第三天，他们伤口正疼痛的时候，雅各的两个儿子——底娜的哥哥西缅和利未拿着利剑，乘众人没有防备，潜入城中，杀掉了所有的男子， 26 包括哈抹和示剑，从示剑家里带走了底娜。 27 雅各的儿子又到城里掳掠，因为他们的妹妹在那里被人玷污。 28 他们抢走牛群、羊群、驴群和城里城外所有的东西， 29 并带走所有财物、妇孺以及房屋里的一切。 30 雅各责备西缅和利未说：“你们为什么要给我惹麻烦，使我在当地的迦南人和比利洗人中留下臭名呢？我们人数很少，要是他们联手来攻击我们，我们全家必遭灭门之祸。” 31 他们说：“他怎么能把我们的妹妹当妓女对待？”

Dina é violada
34 Um dia Dina, filha de Jacó e Lia, saiu para conhecer as mulheres daquela terra. 2 E foi vista por Siquém, filho de Hamor, o heveu, chefe daquela região. E ele a agarrou e dormiu com ela à força. 3 Mas ele ficou apaixonado por Dina, filha de Jacó. Ele a amou e falou-lhe com carinho. 4 Depois Siquém disse ao seu pai, Hamor:
—Fale com a família daquela jovem que eu quero me casar com ela.
5 Quando Jacó soube que Siquém tinha desonrado a sua filha Dina, ficou esperando que os seus filhos regressassem do campo onde estavam cuidando dos rebanhos. 6 Nesse mesmo tempo, Hamor, pai de Siquém, foi procurar Jacó para falar com ele. 7 Os filhos de Jacó voltaram do campo e souberam do que tinha acontecido. Então ficaram furiosos porque Siquém, ao se deitar com a filha de Jacó, tinha feito algo vergonhoso contra Israel. Eles diziam que isso não devia ter sido feito. 8 Hamor falou com eles:
—O meu filho Siquém está apaixonado por Dina, peço-lhes que o deixem casar com a sua filha. 9 Vamos fazer um acordo: que os nossos homens possam se casar com as suas jovens, e que os seus homens possam se casar com as nossas jovens. 10 Fiquem vivendo aqui nesta terra conosco. A nossa terra está à sua disposição. Vivam nela, façam negócios e comprem propriedades.
11 Então Siquém disse ao pai e aos irmãos de Dina:
—Façam-me este favor e eu lhes darei tudo o que me pedirem. 12 Peçam um preço muito alto e muitos presentes, eu pagarei o que pedirem, mas deixem-me casar com ela.
13 Mas os filhos de Jacó decidiram enganar Siquém e o seu pai, por causa de Siquém ter violado Dina, a irmã deles. 14 Então lhe disseram:
—Não podemos deixar que a nossa irmã se case com um homem que não é circuncidado. Isso seria uma vergonha para nós. 15 A nossa única condição é que vocês se tornem como nós, que todos os seus homens sejam circuncidados. 16 Só assim os seus homens poderão se casar com as nossas mulheres e os nossos homens com as suas mulheres. Assim ficaremos vivendo com vocês e seremos um só povo. 17 Se, porém, não concordarem e não se circuncidarem, partiremos com Dina[a].
18 Hamor e o seu filho Siquém consideraram razoável o pedido. 19 Siquém não demorou em fazer o que tinham lhe pedido porque amava a filha de Jacó.
A vingança
Siquém era o homem mais respeitado da sua família. 20 Hamor e o seu filho, Siquém, foram à entrada da cidade e disseram aos homens da cidade:
21 —Estes homens são homens de paz. Deixem que eles vivam nesta terra e façam negócios aqui. Temos muito espaço para eles. Casemo-nos com as filhas deles e que eles se casem com as nossas filhas. 22 Mas eles só aceitam viver aqui conosco e formar um só povo com esta condição: que todos os nossos homens sejam circuncidados, pois eles são todos circuncidados. 23 As suas terras, o seu gado e todos os seus animais serão nossos. Aceitemos, portanto, o que nos pedem para que fiquem vivendo conosco.
24 Todos os habitantes da cidade concordaram com Hamor e com o seu filho Siquém. Então todos os homens foram circuncidados.
25 Três dias depois, quando os homens da cidade estavam cheios de dores, Simeão e Levi, filhos de Jacó e irmãos de Dina, pegaram as suas espadas, entraram na cidade desprotegida e mataram todos os homens. 26 Mataram à espada também Hamor e o seu filho Siquém. Depois tiraram Dina da casa de Siquém e foram embora. 27 Depois vieram os outros filhos de Jacó, passaram por cima dos corpos e roubaram tudo o que havia na cidade, porque Siquém tinha desonrado a sua irmã. 28 Levaram as ovelhas, os bois, os seus jumentos e tudo o que havia na cidade e nos campos. 29 Capturaram todos os seus bens, as suas mulheres, os seus filhos e tudo o que tinham nas suas casas.
30 Então Jacó disse a Simeão e Levi:
—Vocês me arruinaram. Os cananeus e os ferezeus, que vivem nestas terras, vão me odiar. Nós não somos muitos e se os povos destas terras se unirem e nos atacarem, seremos todos destruídos.
31 Mas os filhos de Jacó lhe disseram:
—Ele não devia ter tratado a nossa irmã como se fosse uma prostituta.

2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.
3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.
4 And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.
5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.
6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.
7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.
8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
9 And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.
10 And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.
11 And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
12 Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.
13 And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:
14 And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:
15 But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;
16 Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
17 But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.
18 And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.
19 And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.
20 And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,
21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.
22 Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.
23 Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of their's be our's? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.
24 And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.
25 And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.
27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.
28 They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,
29 And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.
30 And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
31 And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?

Dinah and the Shechemites
34 Now Dinah,(A) the daughter Leah had borne to Jacob, went out to visit the women of the land. 2 When Shechem(B) son of Hamor(C) the Hivite,(D) the ruler of that area, saw her, he took her and raped her.(E) 3 His heart was drawn to Dinah(F) daughter of Jacob;(G) he loved(H) the young woman and spoke tenderly(I) to her. 4 And Shechem said to his father Hamor, “Get me this girl as my wife.”(J)
5 When Jacob heard that his daughter Dinah had been defiled,(K) his sons were in the fields with his livestock; so he did nothing about it until they came home.
6 Then Shechem’s father Hamor went out to talk with Jacob.(L) 7 Meanwhile, Jacob’s sons had come in from the fields as soon as they heard what had happened. They were shocked(M) and furious,(N) because Shechem had done an outrageous thing in[a] Israel(O) by sleeping with Jacob’s daughter—a thing that should not be done.(P)
8 But Hamor said to them, “My son Shechem has his heart set on your daughter. Please give her to him as his wife.(Q) 9 Intermarry with us; give us your daughters and take our daughters for yourselves.(R) 10 You can settle among us;(S) the land is open to you.(T) Live in it, trade[b] in it,(U) and acquire property in it.(V)”
11 Then Shechem said to Dinah’s father and brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes,(W) and I will give you whatever you ask. 12 Make the price for the bride(X) and the gift I am to bring as great as you like, and I’ll pay whatever you ask me. Only give me the young woman as my wife.”
13 Because their sister Dinah had been defiled,(Y) Jacob’s sons replied deceitfully(Z) as they spoke to Shechem and his father Hamor. 14 They said to them, “We can’t do such a thing; we can’t give our sister to a man who is not circumcised.(AA) That would be a disgrace to us. 15 We will enter into an agreement with you on one condition(AB) only: that you become like us by circumcising all your males.(AC) 16 Then we will give you our daughters and take your daughters for ourselves.(AD) We’ll settle among you and become one people with you.(AE) 17 But if you will not agree to be circumcised, we’ll take our sister and go.”
18 Their proposal seemed good to Hamor and his son Shechem. 19 The young man, who was the most honored(AF) of all his father’s family, lost no time in doing what they said, because he was delighted with Jacob’s daughter.(AG) 20 So Hamor and his son Shechem went to the gate of their city(AH) to speak to the men of their city. 21 “These men are friendly toward us,” they said. “Let them live in our land and trade in it;(AI) the land has plenty of room for them. We can marry their daughters and they can marry ours.(AJ) 22 But the men will agree to live with us as one people only on the condition that our males be circumcised,(AK) as they themselves are. 23 Won’t their livestock, their property and all their other animals become ours?(AL) So let us agree to their terms, and they will settle among us.(AM)”
24 All the men who went out of the city gate(AN) agreed with Hamor and his son Shechem, and every male in the city was circumcised.
25 Three days later, while all of them were still in pain,(AO) two of Jacob’s sons, Simeon(AP) and Levi,(AQ) Dinah’s brothers, took their swords(AR) and attacked the unsuspecting city,(AS) killing every male.(AT) 26 They put Hamor and his son Shechem to the sword(AU) and took Dinah(AV) from Shechem’s house and left. 27 The sons of Jacob came upon the dead bodies and looted the city(AW) where[c] their sister had been defiled.(AX) 28 They seized their flocks and herds and donkeys(AY) and everything else of theirs in the city and out in the fields.(AZ) 29 They carried off all their wealth and all their women and children,(BA) taking as plunder(BB) everything in the houses.(BC)
30 Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have brought trouble(BD) on me by making me obnoxious(BE) to the Canaanites and Perizzites, the people living in this land.(BF) We are few in number,(BG) and if they join forces against me and attack me, I and my household will be destroyed.”
31 But they replied, “Should he have treated our sister like a prostitute?(BH)”
