Genesis 38:26-28
New King James Version
26 So Judah (A)acknowledged them and said, (B)“She has been more righteous than I, because (C)I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he (D)never knew her again.
27 Now it came to pass, at the time for giving birth, that behold, twins were in her womb. 28 And so it was, when she was giving birth, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took a scarlet thread and bound it on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.”

26 Judah recognized them and said, “She is more righteous than I,(A) since I wouldn’t give her to my son Shelah.(B)” And he did not sleep with her again.
27 When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb.(C) 28 As she was giving birth, one of them put out his hand; so the midwife(D) took a scarlet thread and tied it on his wrist(E) and said, “This one came out first.”
