Jacob sirve a Labán por Raquel y Lea
29 Jacob siguió su camino, y llegó a la tierra de los orientales. 2 Se fijó, y vio en el campo un pozo; cerca de él había tres rebaños de ovejas, porque de ese pozo bebían los ganados. Una piedra muy grande tapaba la boca del pozo. 3 Cuando todos los rebaños se reunían, se removía la piedra que tapaba el pozo, y se daba de beber a las ovejas; después se volvía a poner la piedra sobre la boca del pozo. 4 Jacob les dijo:
«Hermanos míos, ¿de dónde son ustedes?»
Y ellos respondieron:
«Somos de Jarán.»
5 Les dijo entonces:
«¿Conocen ustedes a Labán, el hijo de Najor?»
Y ellos dijeron:
«Sí, lo conocemos.»
6 Jacob les dijo:
«¿Se encuentra bien?»
Y ellos contestaron:
«Él se encuentra bien. De hecho, aquí viene su hija Raquel con las ovejas.»
7 Entonces él dijo:
«Como pueden ver, aún es muy de día. Todavía no es tiempo de recoger el ganado. Denles agua a las ovejas, y llévenlas a los pastos.»
8 Pero ellos le respondieron:
«No podemos hacerlo, hasta que se junten todos los rebaños. Entonces se quitará la piedra de la boca del pozo, y les daremos agua a las ovejas.»
9 Todavía estaba él hablando con ellos, cuando llegó Raquel con el rebaño de su padre, pues ella era la pastora. 10 Raquel era hija de Labán, hermano de la madre de Jacob, y el rebaño era de Labán. Cuando Jacob vio a Raquel, se acercó y removió la piedra de la boca del pozo, y dio de beber al rebaño, 11 luego besó a Raquel, y sin más se echó a llorar. 12 Entonces Jacob le dijo a Raquel que él era sobrino de su padre, pues era hijo de Rebeca. Ella corrió entonces a dar esta noticia a su padre. 13 Al oír Labán estas noticias de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corrió a recibirlo, y lo abrazó y lo besó, y lo llevó a su casa; allí Jacob le contó a Labán todas estas cosas. 14 Y Labán le dijo: «Ciertamente, tú eres de mi propia sangre.» Y Jacob se quedó con él todo un mes.
15 Entonces Labán le dijo a Jacob:
«¿Vas a trabajar para mí de balde, sólo porque eres mi sobrino? ¡Dime cuánto quieres que te pague!»
16 Labán tenía dos hijas. La mayor se llamaba Lea, y la menor se llamaba Raquel. 17 Los ojos de Lea eran tiernos, pero Raquel tenía una bella presencia y era de hermoso parecer. 18 Jacob se enamoró de Raquel, y dijo:
«Por Raquel, tu hija menor, yo te serviré siete años.»
19 Y Labán respondió:
«Es mejor que te la dé a ti, y no a otro hombre. Quédate conmigo.»
20 Así fue como Jacob trabajó siete años por Raquel; pero le parecieron unos cuantos días, porque la amaba.
21 Un día, Jacob le dijo a Labán:
«Mi plazo se ha cumplido. Dame a mi mujer, para unirme a ella.»
22 Labán juntó entonces a todos los varones de aquel lugar, y ofreció un banquete. 23 Cuando llegó la noche, Labán tomó a su hija Lea, y se la llevó a Jacob; y él se unió a ella. 24 Además, Labán le dio a su hija Lea, por criada, a su sierva Zilpa. 25 Cuando llegó la mañana, Jacob vio que estaba con Lea; así que le dijo a Labán:
«¿Qué es lo que me has hecho? ¿Acaso no te he servido por Raquel? ¿Por qué me has engañado?»
26 Y Labán respondió:
«Aquí no acostumbramos dar a la hija menor antes que a la mayor. 27 Cumple esta semana, y se te dará también la otra, si trabajas para mí otros siete años.»
28 Jacob lo hizo así. Cumplió aquella semana, y Labán le dio a su hija Raquel por mujer. 29 A su hija Raquel, Labán le dio por criada a su sierva Bilá. 30 Y Jacob se unió también a Raquel, y la amó mucho más que a Lea; y trabajó para Labán siete años más.
Los hijos de Jacob
31 Al ver el Señor que Lea era menospreciada, le dio hijos; pero Raquel era estéril. 32 Y Lea concibió y dio a luz un hijo, y le puso por nombre Rubén,[a] pues dijo: «El Señor ha mirado mi aflicción, así que ahora mi marido me amará.» 33 Volvió a concebir, y dio a luz un hijo. Entonces dijo: «El Señor oyó[b] que yo era menospreciada, así que también me ha dado este hijo.» Por eso le puso por nombre Simeón. 34 Concibió una vez más, y dio a luz un hijo. Y dijo: «Esta vez mi marido se unirá[c] conmigo, pues ya le he dado tres hijos.» Por eso le puso por nombre Leví. 35 Todavía concibió otra vez, y dio a luz un hijo. Entonces dijo: «Esta vez alabaré[d] al Señor.» Por eso le puso por nombre Judá. Y dejó de dar a luz.

Jacob Meets Rachel
29 So Jacob went on his journey (A)and came to the land of the people of the East. 2 And he looked, and saw a (B)well in the field; and behold, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks. A large stone was on the well’s mouth. 3 Now all the flocks would be gathered there; and they would roll the stone from the well’s mouth, water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the well’s mouth.
4 And Jacob said to them, “My brethren, where are you from?”
And they said, “We are from (C)Haran.”
5 Then he said to them, “Do you know (D)Laban the son of Nahor?”
And they said, “We know him.”
6 So he said to them, (E)“Is he well?”
And they said, “He is well. And look, his daughter Rachel (F)is coming with the sheep.”
7 Then he said, “Look, it is still [a]high day; it is not time for the cattle to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”
8 But they said, “We cannot until all the flocks are gathered together, and they have rolled the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.”
9 Now while he was still speaking with them, (G)Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess. 10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near and (H)rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother. 11 Then Jacob (I)kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice and wept. 12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was (J)her father’s relative and that he was Rebekah’s son. (K)So she ran and told her father.
13 Then it came to pass, when Laban heard the report about Jacob his sister’s son, that (L)he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house. So he told Laban all these things. 14 And Laban said to him, (M)“Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him for a month.
Jacob Marries Leah and Rachel
15 Then Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, (N)what should your wages be?” 16 Now Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah’s eyes were [b]delicate, but Rachel was (O)beautiful of form and appearance.
18 Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, (P)“I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.”
19 And Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.” 20 So Jacob (Q)served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.
21 Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may (R)go in to her.” 22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place and (S)made a feast. 23 Now it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter and brought her to Jacob; and he went in to her. 24 And Laban gave his maid (T)Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid. 25 So it came to pass in the morning, that behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served you? Why then have you (U)deceived me?”
26 And Laban said, “It must not be done so in our [c]country, to give the younger before the firstborn. 27 (V)Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.”
28 Then Jacob did so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also. 29 And Laban gave his maid (W)Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as a maid. 30 Then Jacob also went in to Rachel, and he also (X)loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with Laban (Y)still another seven years.
The Children of Jacob
31 When the Lord (Z)saw that Leah was [d]unloved, He (AA)opened her womb; but Rachel was barren. 32 So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name [e]Reuben; for she said, “The Lord has surely (AB)looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me.” 33 Then she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Because the Lord has heard that I am [f]unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” And she called his name [g]Simeon. 34 She conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called [h]Levi. 35 And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she called his name (AC)Judah.[i] Then she stopped bearing.

29 雅各繼續前行，到了東方人的地方。 2 他看見田間有一口井；有三群羊躺臥在井旁，因為人都是用那井裡的水給羊群喝；井口上有一塊大石頭。 3 當所有羊群都到齊了，牧人就把井口的石頭輥開，取水給羊群喝，然後把石頭放回井口原處。 4 雅各問這些牧人：“弟兄們，你們是哪裡來的？”他們回答：“我們是從哈蘭來的。” 5 他問他們：“你們認識拿鶴的孫子拉班嗎？”他們回答：“我們認識。” 6 雅各又問他們：“他平安嗎？”他們回答：“平安。你看，他的女兒拉結領著羊群來了。” 7 雅各說：“現在太陽還高，不是牲畜聚集的時候；你們取水給羊群喝，再去牧放吧。” 8 他們回答：“我們不能這樣作，必須等到所有的羊群都到齊了，有人把井口的石頭輥開，我們才可以取水給羊群喝。” 9 雅各還跟他們說話的時候，拉結領著她父親的羊群來了。拉結原來是個牧羊女。 10 雅各看見了舅父拉班的女兒拉結，和舅父拉班的羊群，就上前來，把井口的石頭輥開，取水給舅父拉班的羊群喝。 11 雅各和拉結親吻，就放聲大哭。 12 雅各告訴拉結，自己是她父親的外甥，是利百加的兒子。拉結就跑去告訴她的父親。
13 拉班聽見了關於外甥雅各的消息，就跑去迎接他，擁抱他，和他親吻，帶他到自己的家裡。雅各就把一切經過都告訴拉班。 14 拉班對雅各說：“你實在是我的骨肉。”雅各就與拉班同住了一個月。
雅各娶拉班兩個女兒為妻
15 拉班對雅各說：“你因為是我的外甥，就要白白地服事我嗎？告訴我，你要甚麼報酬？” 16 拉班有兩個女兒；大的名叫利亞，小的名叫拉結。 17 利亞的眼睛雖然可愛，拉結卻生得身材美麗，樣貌娟秀。 18 雅各愛拉結，所以對拉班說：“我願為你的小女兒拉結服事你七年。” 19 拉班說：“我把她給你，比給別人更好，你就與我同住吧。” 20 於是，雅各為拉結服事了拉班七年；他就看這七年好像幾天一樣，因為他愛拉結。
21 雅各對拉班說：“期限到了，請把我的妻子給我，好讓我與她親近。” 22 拉班就擺設筵席，邀請了那地方所有的人。 23 到了晚上，拉班把自己的女兒利亞帶來給雅各，雅各就與她親近。 24 拉班又把自己的婢女悉帕給了女兒利亞作婢女。 25 到了早晨，雅各才看出原來是利亞，就對拉班說：“你向我作的是甚麼事呢？我服事你，不是為了拉結的緣故嗎？你為甚麼欺騙我呢？” 26 拉班回答：“大女兒還沒有出嫁，就先把小女兒嫁出去，我們這地方是沒有這規矩的。 27 你與大女兒七天的慶典過了以後，我們也把小女兒給你，只是你要再服事我七年。” 28 於是雅各這樣作了。他與利亞七天的慶典過了以後，拉班就把自己的女兒拉結給雅各為妻。 29 拉班又把自己的婢女辟拉給了女兒拉結作婢女。 30 雅各也與拉結親近，並且愛拉結勝過愛利亞；於是他再服事了拉班七年。
雅各的兒子
31 耶和華見利亞失寵，就使她生育，拉結卻不生育。 32 利亞懷孕，生了一個兒子，就給他起名叫流本，因為她說：“耶和華看見了我的苦情，現在我的丈夫必愛我了。” 33 她又懷孕，生了一個兒子，就說：“耶和華因為聽見我失寵，所以又賜給我這個兒子。”於是給他起名叫西緬。 34 她又懷孕，生了一個兒子，就說：“這一次，我的丈夫要依戀我了，因為我已經給他生了三個兒子。”因此給孩子起名叫利未。 35 她又懷孕，生了一個兒子，就說：“這一次，我要讚美耶和華了。”因此給孩子起名叫猶大。這樣，她才停止了生育。
