2 Quedaron, pues, acabados los cielos y la tierra, y todo el ejército de ellos.
2 Y acabó Dios en el día séptimo la obra que hizo; y reposó el día séptimo de toda la obra que hizo.
3 Y bendijo Dios al día séptimo, y lo santificó, porque en él reposó de toda la obra que había hecho en la creación.
El hombre en el paraíso terrenal
4 Así tuvieron origen los cielos y la tierra cuando fueron creados, el día que Jehová Dios hizo la tierra y los cielos,
5 y toda planta del campo antes que fuese en la tierra, y toda hierba del campo antes que naciese; porque Jehová Dios aún no había hecho llover sobre la tierra, ni había hombre para que labrase la tierra,
6 sino que subía de la tierra un vapor, el cual regaba toda la faz de la tierra.
7 Entonces Jehová Dios modeló al hombre de arcilla del suelo, y sopló en su nariz aliento de vida, y fue el hombre un ser viviente.
8 Y Jehová Dios plantó un huerto en Edén, al oriente; y puso allí al hombre que había formado.
9 Y Jehová Dios hizo nacer de la tierra todo árbol delicioso a la vista, y bueno para comer; también el árbol de la vida en medio del huerto, y el árbol de la ciencia del bien y del mal.
10 Y salía del Edén un río para regar el huerto, y de allí se repartía en cuatro brazos.
11 El nombre del uno era Pisón; éste es el que rodea toda la tierra de Havilá, donde hay oro;
12 y el oro de aquella tierra es bueno; hay allí también bedelio y ónice.
13 El nombre del segundo río es Guijón; éste es el que rodea toda la tierra de Cus.
14 Y el nombre del tercer río es Jidekel; éste es el que va al oriente de Asiria. Y el cuarto río es el Eufrates.
15 Tomó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre, y lo puso en el huerto de Edén, para que lo labrara y lo guardase.
16 Y mandó Jehová Dios al hombre, diciendo: De todo árbol del huerto podrás comer;
17 mas del árbol de la ciencia del bien y del mal no comerás; porque el día que de él comieres, ciertamente morirás.
Institución del matrimonio
18 Y dijo Jehová Dios: No es bueno que el hombre esté solo; le haré ayuda idónea para él.
19 Jehová Dios formó, pues, de la tierra toda bestia del campo, y toda ave de los cielos, y las trajo a Adán para que viese cómo las había de llamar; y todo lo que Adán llamó a los animales vivientes, ese es su nombre.
20 Y puso Adán nombres a toda bestia y ave de los cielos y a todo ganado del campo; mas para Adán no se halló ayuda idónea para él.
21 Entonces Jehová Dios hizo caer sueño profundo sobre Adán, y mientras éste dormía, tomó una de sus costillas, y cerró la carne en su lugar.
22 Y de la costilla que Jehová Dios tomó del hombre, formó una mujer, y la trajo al hombre.
23 Dijo entonces Adán: Esto es ahora hueso de mis huesos y carne de mi carne; ésta será llamada Varona, porque del varón fue tomada.
24 Por tanto, dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y se harán una sola carne.
25 Y estaban ambos desnudos, Adán y su mujer, y no se avergonzaban.

2 بەم شێوەیە ئاسمان و زەوی و هەرچی تێیاندا ڕێکخرابوو تەواو کران.
2 ئیتر خودا لە ڕۆژی حەوتەم لەو کارەی کە کردبووی تەواو ببوو، ئینجا لە ڕۆژی حەوتەمدا لە هەموو کارەکانی پشووی دا. 3 خودا ڕۆژی حەوتەمی بەرەکەتدار و پیرۆز کرد، چونکە تێیدا لە هەموو کارەکانی پشووی دا، هەموو ئەوەی خودا بەدیهێنا و دروستی کرد.
ئادەم و حەوا
4 ئەمانەش ڕێکخستنەکانی ئاسمان و زەوین کاتێک بەدی هێنران، لەو ڕۆژەی یەزدانی پەروەردگار زەوی و ئاسمانی دروستکرد.
5 هێشتا هیچ دەوەنێکی کێڵگە لەسەر زەوی نەبوو، هەروەها هیچ ڕووەکێکی کێڵگەش هێشتا سەری دەرنەکردبوو، چونکە هێشتا یەزدانی پەروەردگار بارانی بەسەر زەویدا نەباراندبوو. هیچ مرۆڤێکیش نەبوو ئیشی جوتیاری بکات. 6 بەڵام تەم لە زەوییەوە سەردەکەوت و هەموو ڕووی زەوی ئاو دەدا. 7 جا یەزدانی پەروەردگار پیاوی لە خۆڵی زەوی[a] پێکهێنا و هەناسەی ژیانی فووکردە کونە لووتی. بەمەش پیاوەکە بووە گیانێکی زیندوو.
8 ئینجا یەزدانی پەروەردگار باخچەیەکی لە عەدەن، لە ڕۆژهەڵاتدا چاند. لەوێش پیاوەکەی دانا کە پێکی هێنابوو. 9 یەزدانی پەروەردگار هەموو ئەو جۆرە درەختانەی کە لەبەرچاو جوان بوون و بۆ خواردن خۆش بوون لە زەویدا گەشەی پێکرد. درەختی ژیانیش لەناوەڕاستی باخچەکەدا بوو، هەروەها درەختی زانینی چاکە و خراپە.
10 ڕووبارێک لە عەدەنەوە هەڵدەقوڵا و لەبەری دەڕۆیشت بۆ ئاودانی باخچەکە، لەوێوە جیا بووەوە و بووە چوار لق: 11 ناوی یەکەمیان پیشۆنە کە بە هەر چوار لای هەموو زەوی حەڤیلادایە، کە زێڕی لێیە. 12 زێڕی ئەو زەوییە چاکە، هەروەها سرێشی[b] داری بۆن خۆش و بەردی عاشقبەندیشی لێیە. 13 ناوی ڕووباری دووەمیان گیحۆنە، کە بە شێوەی پێچاوپێچ بە هەموو خاکی کوشدا[c] دەڕوات. 14 ناوی ڕووباری سێیەم دجلەیە،[d] ئەمیش بە ڕۆژهەڵاتی شاری ئەشووردا[e] دەڕوات. ڕووباری چوارەمیش فوراتە.
15 یەزدانی پەروەردگار پیاوەکەی هێنا و لە باخچەی عەدەن داینا، بۆ ئیشی جوتیاری و بایەخ پێدانی. 16 یەزدانی پەروەردگار فەرمانی بە پیاوەکە دا و فەرمووی: «تۆ ئازادیت لە هەموو درەختەکانی باخچەکە بخۆیت، 17 بەڵام بۆت نییە لە درەختی زانینی چاکە و خراپە بخۆیت، چونکە لەو ڕۆژەی لێی بخۆیت بێگومان دەمریت.»
18 یەزدانی پەروەردگار فەرمووی: «باش نییە بۆ پیاو بە تەنها بێت. یاریدەرێکی هاوشانی بۆ دروستدەکەم.»
19 یەزدانی پەروەردگار هەر لە خۆڵی زەوی هەموو ئاژەڵی کێوی و هەموو باڵندەکانی ئاسمانی پێکهێنا. ئینجا بۆ پیاوەکەی هێنا هەتا ببینێت ناوی چییان لێ دەنێت، هەر ناوێک کە پیاوەکە لە هەریەک لەم بوونەوەرە زیندووانەی نا، ئەوە ناوەکەی بوو. 20 پیاوەکە ناوی لە هەموو ئاژەڵی ماڵی و باڵندەی ئاسمان و ئاژەڵی کێوی نا.
بەڵام بۆ پیاوەکە[f] هیچ یاریدەرێکی هاوشان نەدۆزرایەوە.
21 لە ئەنجامدا یەزدانی پەروەردگار پیاوەکەی خستە خەوێکی قووڵەوە. کاتێک خەوتبوو، یەکێک لە پەراسووەکانی دەرهێنا و شوێنەکەی بە گۆشت بۆ پڕکردەوە. 22 ئینجا یەزدانی پەروەردگار ئافرەتێکی لەو پەراسووە بنیاد نا کە لە پیاوەکەی وەرگرتبوو، جا بۆ پیاوەکەی هێنا.
23 پیاوەکە گوتی:
«ئێستا ئەمە ئێسکێکە لە ئێسقانەکانم و
گۆشتە لە گۆشتم.
ئەمە ناودەبردرێت بە ”ئافرەت“[g]
چونکە لە پیاوەوە وەرگیراوە.»
24 لەبەر ئەوە پیاو دایک و باوکی خۆی بەجێدەهێڵێت و بە ژنەکەیەوە دەنووسێت، ئیتر دەبنە یەک جەستە.
25 پیاوەکە و ژنەکەی هەردووکیان ڕووت بوون، شەرمیشیان نەدەکرد.

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
