2 Er der da nogen Formaning i Kristus, er der nogen Kærlighedens Opmuntring, er der noget Åndens Samfund, er der nogen inderlig Kærlighed og Barmhjertighed: 2 da fuldkommer min Glæde, at I må være enige indbyrdes, så I have den samme Kærlighed, samme Sjæl, een Higen, 3 intet gøre af Egennytte eller Lyst til tom Ære, men i Ydmyghed agte hverandre højere end eder selv 4 og ikke se hver på sit, men enhver også på andres. 5 Det samme Sindelag være i eder, som også var i Kristus Jesus, 6 han, som, da han var i Guds Skikkelse ikke holdt det for et Rov at være Gud lig, 7 men forringede sig selv, idet han tog en Tjeners Skikkelse på og blev Mennesker lig; 8 og da han i Fremtræden fandtes som et Menneske, fornedrede han sig selv, så han blev lydig indtil Døden, ja, Korsdøden. 9 Derfor har også Gud højt ophøjet ham og skænket ham det Navn, som er over alle Navne, 10 for at i Jesu Navn hvert Knæ skal bøje sig, deres i Himmelen og på Jorden og under Jorden, 11 og hver Tunge skal bekende, at Jesus Kristus er Herre, til Gud Faders Ære.
12 Derfor, mine elskede! ligesom I altid have været lydige, så arbejder ikke alene som i min Nærværelse, men nu meget mere i min Fraværelse på eders egen Frelse med Frygt og Bæven; 13 thi Gud er den, som virker i eder både at ville og at virke, efter sit Velbehag. 14 Gører alle Ting uden Knurren og Betænkeligheder, 15 for at I må blive udadlelige og rene, Guds ulastelige Børn, midt i en vanartet og forvendt Slægt, iblandt hvilke I vise eder som Himmellys i Verden, 16 idet I fremholde Livets Ord, mig til Ros på Kristi Dag, at jeg ikke har løbet forgæves, ej heller arbejdet forgæves. 17 Ja, selv om jeg bliver ofret under Ofringen og Betjeningen af eders Tro, så glæder jeg mig og glæder mig med eder alle. 18 Men ligeledes skulle også I glæde eder, og glæde eder med mig!
19 Men jeg håber i den Herre Jesus snart at kunne sende Timotheus til eder, for at også jeg kan blive ved godt Mod ved at erfare, hvorledes det går eder. 20 Thi jeg har ingen ligesindet, der så oprigtig vil have Omsorg for, hvorledes det går eder; 21 thi de søge alle deres eget, ikke hvad der hører Kristus Jesus til. 22 Men hans prøvede Troskab kende I, at, ligesom et Barn tjener sin Fader, således har han tjent med mig for Evangeliet. 23 Ham håber jeg altså at sende straks, når jeg ser Udgangen på min Sag. 24 Men jeg har den Tillid til Herren, at jeg også selv snart skal komme.
25 Men jeg har agtet det nødvendigt at sende Epafroditus til eder, min Broder og Medarbejder og Medstrider, og eders Udsending og Tjener for min Trang, 26 efterdi han længtes efter eder alle og var såre ængstelig, fordi I havde hørt, at han var bleven syg. 27 Ja, han var også syg og Døden nær; men Gud forbarmede sig over ham, ja, ikke alene over ham, men også over mig, for at jeg ikke skulde have Sorg på Sorg. 28 Derfor skynder jeg mig desto mere med at sende ham, for at I og jeg være mere sorgfri. 29 Modtager ham altså i Herren med al Glæde og holder sådanne i Ære; 30 thi for Kristi Gernings Skyld kom han Døden nær, idet han satte sit Liv i Vove for at udfylde Savnet af eder i eders Tjeneste imod mig.

2 Kaya nga kung mayroong anomang kasiglahan kay Cristo, kung mayroong anomang kaaliwan ng pagibig, kung mayroong anomang pakikisama ng Espiritu, (A)kung mayroong anomang (B)mahinahong awa at habag,
2 Ay lubusin ninyo ang aking katuwaan, (C)upang kayo'y mangagkaisa ng pagiisip, mangagtaglay ng isa ring pagibig, na mangagkaisa ng akala, at isa lamang pagiisip;
3 Na huwag ninyong gawin ang anoman sa pamamagitan ng (D)pagkakampikampi o sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalalo, kundi (E)sa kababaan ng pagiisip, (F)na ipalagay ng bawa't isa ang iba na lalong mabuti kay sa kaniyang sarili;
4 Huwag tingnan ng bawa't isa sa inyo ang sa kaniyang sarili, kundi ang (G)bawa't isa naman ay sa iba't iba.
5 Mangagkaroon kayo sa inyo ng pagiisip, na (H)ito'y na kay Cristo Jesus din naman:
6 Na siya, bagama't (I)nasa anyong Dios, (J)ay hindi niya inaring isang bagay na nararapat panangnan ang pagkapantay niya sa Dios,
7 Kundi bagkus (K)hinubad niya ito, (L)at naganyong alipin, na nakitulad sa mga tao:
8 At palibhasa'y nasumpungan sa anyong tao, siya'y nagpakababa sa kaniyang sarili, (M)na nagmasunurin hanggang sa kamatayan, oo, sa kamatayan sa krus.
9 (N)Kaya siya naman ay pinakadakila ng (O)Dios, at (P)siya'y binigyan ng pangalang lalo sa lahat ng pangalan;
10 Upang sa pangalan ni Jesus ay iluhod ang (Q)lahat ng tuhod, ng (R)nangasa langit, at ng nangasa ibabaw ng lupa, at ng nangasa ilalim ng lupa,
11 At upang ipahayag ng lahat ng mga dila na si Jesucristo ay (S)Panginoon, sa ikaluluwalhati ng Dios Ama.
12 Kaya nga, mga minamahal ko, kung paano ang inyong laging pagsunod, na hindi lamang sa harapan ko, kundi bagkus pa ngayong ako'y wala, ay lubusin ninyo ang gawain ng inyong sariling pagkaligtas na may (T)takot at panginginig;
13 Sapagka't (U)Dios ang gumagawa sa inyo maging sa pagnanasa at sa paggawa, ayon sa kaniyang mabuting kalooban.
14 Gawin ninyo ang lahat ng mga bagay na walang mga bulungbulong at pagtatalo:
15 Upang kayo'y maging walang sala at walang malay, (V)mga anak ng Dios na walang dungis (W)sa gitna ng isang lahing (X)liko at masama, na sa gitna nila'y lumiliwanag kayong (Y)tulad sa mga ilaw sa sanglibutan,
16 Na nagpapahayag (Z)ng salita ng kabuhayan; upang may ipagkapuri (AA)ako sa kaarawan ni Cristo, na (AB)hindi ako tumakbo nang walang kabuluhan (AC)ni nagpagal man nang walang kabuluhan.
17 Oo, kahit (AD)ako'y maging hain sa paghahandog (AE)at paglilingkod ng inyong pananampalataya, (AF)ako'y nakikipagkatuwa, at nakikigalak sa inyong lahat:
18 At sa ganyan ding paraan kayo'y nakikipagkatuwa naman, at nakikigalak sa akin.
19 Datapuwa't inaasahan ko sa Panginoong Jesus na suguing madali sa inyo si (AG)Timoteo, upang ako naman ay mapanatag, pagkaalam ko ng inyong kalagayan.
20 Sapagka't walang taong katulad ko ang pagiisip na magmamalasakit na totoo sa inyong kalagayan.
21 Sapagka't (AH)pinagsisikapan nilang (AI)lahat ang sa kanilang sarili, hindi ang mga bagay ni Jesucristo.
22 Nguni't nalalaman ninyo ang pagkasubok sa kaniya (AJ)na gaya ng paglilingkod ng anak sa ama, ay gayon naglilingkod siyang kasama ko sa ikalalaganap ng evangelio.
23 Siya nga ang aking inaasahang suguin madali, pagkakita ko kung ano ang mangyayari sa akin:
24 Datapuwa't (AK)umaasa ako sa Panginoon, na diya'y makararating din naman akong madali.
25 Nguni't inakala kong kailangang suguin sa inyo si (AL)Epafrodito, na aking kapatid at kamanggagawa, at kapuwa kawal at inyong sugo at katiwala sa aking kailangan.
26 Yamang siya'y nananabik sa inyong lahat, at totoong siya'y namanglaw, sapagka't inyong nabalitaan na siya'y may-sakit:
27 Katotohanan ngang nagkasakit siya na malapit na sa kamatayan: nguni't kinahabagan siya ng Dios; at hindi lamang siya kundi pati ako, upang ako'y huwag magkaroon ng sapinsaping kalumbayan.
28 Siya nga'y sinugo kong may malaking pagpipilit, upang, pagkakitang muli ninyo sa kaniya, kayo'y mangagalak, at ako'y mabawasan ng kalumbayan.
29 Tanggapin nga ninyo siya sa Panginoon ng buong galak; at ang gayon ay papurihan ninyo:
30 Sapagka't dahil sa pagpapagal kay Cristo ay nalapit siya sa kamatayan, na isinasapanganib ang kaniyang buhay (AM)upang punan ang kakulangan sa inyong paglilingkod sa akin.

Imitating Christ’s Humility
2 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit,(A) if any tenderness and compassion,(B) 2 then make my joy complete(C) by being like-minded,(D) having the same love, being one(E) in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.(F) Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,(G) 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.(H)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:(I)
6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,(J)
did not consider equality with God(K) something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing(L)
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,(M)
being made in human likeness.(N)
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death(O)—
even death on a cross!(P)
9 Therefore God exalted him(Q) to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,(R)
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,(S)
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,(T)
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,(U)
to the glory of God the Father.
Do Everything Without Grumbling
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,(V) 13 for it is God who works in you(W) to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.(X)
14 Do everything without grumbling(Y) or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless(Z) and pure, “children of God(AA) without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”[c](AB) Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ(AC) that I did not run(AD) or labor in vain.(AE) 17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering(AF) on the sacrifice(AG) and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.(AH) 18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
Timothy and Epaphroditus
19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy(AI) to you soon,(AJ) that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. 20 I have no one else like him,(AK) who will show genuine concern for your welfare. 21 For everyone looks out for their own interests,(AL) not those of Jesus Christ. 22 But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father(AM) he has served with me in the work of the gospel. 23 I hope, therefore, to send him as soon as I see how things go with me.(AN) 24 And I am confident(AO) in the Lord that I myself will come soon.
25 But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, co-worker(AP) and fellow soldier,(AQ) who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs.(AR) 26 For he longs for all of you(AS) and is distressed because you heard he was ill. 27 Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow. 28 Therefore I am all the more eager to send him,(AT) so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety. 29 So then, welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,(AU) 30 because he almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to make up for the help you yourselves could not give me.(AV)
