4 1 Por eso, mis queridos hermanos, a quienes tanto deseo ver; ustedes, amados míos, que son mi alegría y mi premio, sigan así, firmes en el Señor.
Recomendaciones particulares
2 Ruego a Evodia, y también a Síntique, que se pongan de acuerdo como hermanas en el Señor. 3 Y a ti, mi fiel compañero de trabajo, te pido que ayudes a estas hermanas, pues ellas lucharon a mi lado en el anuncio del evangelio, junto con Clemente y los otros que trabajaron conmigo. Sus nombres ya están escritos en el libro de la vida.
Recomendaciones generales
4 Alégrense siempre en el Señor. Repito: ¡Alégrense! 5 Que todos los conozcan a ustedes como personas bondadosas. El Señor está cerca.
6 No se aflijan por nada, sino preséntenselo todo a Dios en oración; pídanle, y denle gracias también. 7 Así Dios les dará su paz, que es más grande de lo que el hombre puede entender; y esta paz cuidará sus corazones y sus pensamientos por medio de Cristo Jesús.
8 Por último, hermanos, piensen en todo lo verdadero, en todo lo que es digno de respeto, en todo lo recto, en todo lo puro, en todo lo agradable, en todo lo que tiene buena fama. Piensen en toda clase de virtudes, en todo lo que merece alabanza.
9 Sigan practicando lo que les enseñé y las instrucciones que les di, lo que me oyeron decir y lo que me vieron hacer: háganlo así y el Dios de paz estará con ustedes.
10 Me alegro mucho en el Señor de que ustedes hayan vuelto a pensar en mí. No quiero decir que me hubieran olvidado, sino que no tenían la oportunidad de ayudarme. 11 No lo digo porque yo esté necesitado, pues he aprendido a contentarme con lo que tengo. 12 Sé lo que es vivir en la pobreza, y también lo que es vivir en la abundancia. He aprendido a hacer frente a cualquier situación, lo mismo a estar satisfecho que a tener hambre, a tener de sobra que a no tener nada. 13 A todo puedo hacerle frente, gracias a Cristo que me fortalece. 14 Sin embargo, ustedes hicieron bien compartiendo mis dificultades.
15 Cuando partí de Macedonia, al comenzar a anunciar el evangelio, fueron ustedes, los de la iglesia de Filipos, los únicos con quienes tuve este intercambio de bienes. 16 Pues incluso estando yo en Tesalónica, más de una vez ustedes me enviaron ofrendas para mis necesidades. 17 No es que yo esté cobrándoles nada; lo que quiero es que ustedes lleguen a tener más en su cuenta delante de Dios. 18 Acuso recibo de todo, y hasta tengo de sobra. Con lo que me enviaron por medio de Epafrodito, tengo más que suficiente. Lo que me enviaron fue como una ofrenda de incienso perfumado, un sacrificio que Dios recibe con agrado. 19 Por lo tanto, mi Dios les dará a ustedes todo lo que les falte, conforme a las gloriosas riquezas que tiene en Cristo Jesús. 20 ¡Gloria para siempre a nuestro Dios y Padre! Closing Appeal for Steadfastness and Unity
4 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for,(A) my joy and crown, stand firm(B) in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
2 I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind(C) in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers,(D) whose names are in the book of life.(E)
Final Exhortations
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!(F) 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.(G) 6 Do not be anxious about anything,(H) but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.(I) 7 And the peace of God,(J) which transcends all understanding,(K) will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.(L) And the God of peace(M) will be with you.

10 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me.(N) Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content(O) whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,(P) whether living in plenty or in want.(Q) 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.(R)
14 Yet it was good of you to share(S) in my troubles. 15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days(T) of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia,(U) not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;(V) 16 for even when I was in Thessalonica,(W) you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.(X) 17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.(Y) 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus(Z) the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant(AA) offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19 And my God will meet all your needs(AB) according to the riches of his glory(AC) in Christ Jesus.
20 To our God and Father(AD) be glory for ever and ever. Amen.(AE)
Final Greetings
21 Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me(AF) send greetings. 22 All God’s people(AG) here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.

4 [L Therefore; So then] My brothers and sisters, ·I love you and want to see you [L my beloved and longed-for ones]. ·You bring me joy and make me proud of you [L …my joy and crown; 1 Thess. 2:19; C a wreath bestowed for victory or honor], so stand ·strong [firm] in the Lord as I have told you, ·dear friends [beloved].
2 I ·ask [urge; encourage; exhort] Euodia and Syntyche [C two women in the Philippian congregation] to agree in the Lord. 3 And I ask you, my ·faithful [true; genuine] ·friend [companion; L yoke-partner; C possibly a proper name: Syzygos], to help these women. They ·served [struggled; labored] with me in telling the ·Good News [Gospel], together with Clement and ·others who worked with me [L the rest of my coworkers], whose names are written in the book of life [Rev. 3:5; 21:27].

4 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
