⁴ Then everyone who trembled^(A) at the words of the God of Israel gathered around me because of this unfaithfulness of the exiles. And I sat there appalled^(B) until the evening sacrifice.

³ Now let us make a covenant^(A) before our God to send away^(B) all these women and their children, in accordance with the counsel of my lord and of those who fear the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law.

³⁹ Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.^(A)

Peter Heals a Lame Beggar

3 One day Peter and John^(A) were going up to the temple^(B) at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon.^(C)

²¹ while I was still in prayer, Gabriel,^(A) the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice.^(B)

⁴ and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem^(A) and put a mark^(B) on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament^(C) over all the detestable things that are done in it.^(D)”

²⁷ Because your heart was responsive^(A) and you humbled^(B) yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the Lord.
