¹² Therefore, do not give your daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters for your sons, and never seek their peace or prosperity, so that you may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.’^(A)

³ Do not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons,^(A)

⁶ You shall never promote their welfare or their prosperity as long as you live.

¹² For if you turn back and join the survivors of these nations left here among you and intermarry with them, so that you marry their women and they yours,^{(A) 13} know assuredly that the Lord your God will not continue to drive out these nations before you, but they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a scourge on your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land that the Lord your God has given you.^(B)

¹⁵ You shall not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to their gods, someone among them will invite you, and you will eat of the sacrifice,^{(A) 16} and you will take wives from among their daughters for your sons, and their daughters who prostitute themselves to their gods will make your sons also prostitute themselves to their gods.^(B)

¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive and welcome this person into your house,^{(A) 11} for to welcome is to participate in the evil deeds of such a person.^(B)
