²⁸ And I said to them, “You are ^(A)holy^[a] to the Lord; the articles are ^(B)holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to the Lord God of your fathers.

² “Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they ^(A)separate^[a] themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they ^(B)do not profane My holy name by what they ^(C)dedicate to Me: I am the Lord. ³ Say to them: ‘Whoever of all your descendants throughout your generations, who goes near the holy things which the children of Israel dedicate to the Lord, ^(D)while he has ^[b]uncleanness upon him, that person shall be cut off from My presence: I am the Lord.

⁶ They shall be ^(A)holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the ^(B)bread of their God; ^(C)therefore they shall be holy. ^7 (D)They shall not take a wife who is a harlot or a defiled woman, nor shall they take a woman ^(E)divorced from her husband; for ^[a]the priest is holy to his God. ⁸ Therefore you shall ^[b]consecrate him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for ^(F)I the Lord, who ^(G)sanctify you, am holy.

^7 (A)King Cyrus also brought out the articles of the house of the Lord, ^(B)which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and put in the ^[a]temple of his gods; ⁸ and Cyrus king of Persia brought them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them out to ^(C)Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. ⁹ This is the number of them: thirty gold platters, one thousand silver platters, twenty-nine knives, ¹⁰ thirty gold basins, four hundred and ten silver basins of a similar kind, and one thousand other articles. ¹¹ All the articles of gold and silver were five thousand four hundred. All these Sheshbazzar took with the captives who were brought from Babylon to Jerusalem.

¹⁴ When they had finished, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada; ^(A)they made from it articles for the house of the Lord, articles for serving and offering, spoons and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the Lord continually all the days of Jehoiada.

²⁸ because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

⁴⁸ Thus Solomon had all the furnishings made for the house of the Lord: ^(A)the altar of gold, and ^(B)the table of gold on which was ^(C)the showbread; ⁴⁹ the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right side and five on the left in front of the inner sanctuary, with the flowers and the lamps and the wick-trimmers of gold; ⁵⁰ the basins, the trimmers, the bowls, the ladles, and the ^[a]censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner room (the Most Holy Place) and for the doors of the main hall of the temple.

⁵¹ So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the Lord was finished; and Solomon brought in the things ^(D)which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the Lord.

⁸ And of ^(A)Levi he said:
