Ezra Praises the Lord
27 Praise the Lord, the God of our ancestors, who made the king want to beautify the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem! 28 And praise him for demonstrating such unfailing love to me by honoring me before the king, his council, and all his mighty nobles! I felt encouraged because the gracious hand of the Lord my God was on me. And I gathered some of the leaders of Israel to return with me to Jerusalem.

The King’s Kindness
27 Blessed be the Lord, the God of our fathers, (A)who has put such a thing as this in the king’s heart, to glorify the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem, 28 and (B)has extended favor to me before the king and his counselors and before all the king’s mighty officials. So I was strengthened according to (C)the hand of the Lord my God that was upon me, and I gathered [a]leading men from Israel to go up with me.
