New English Translation
15 so that he may initiate a search of the records[a] of his predecessors[b] and discover in those records[c] that this city is rebellious[d] and injurious to both kings and provinces, producing internal revolts[e] from long ago.[f] It is for this very reason that this city was destroyed.
