The List of the Exiles Who Returned(A)
2 Now these are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles,(B) whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon(C) had taken captive to Babylon (they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to their own town,(D) 2 in company with Zerubbabel,(E) Joshua,(F) Nehemiah, Seraiah,(G) Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum and Baanah):

| Hobaiah, Hakkoz and Barzillai (a man who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite(Y) and was called by that name). |
62 These searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood(Z) as unclean. 63 The governor ordered them not to eat any of the most sacred food(AA) until there was a priest ministering with the Urim and Thummim.(AB)
64 The whole company numbered 42,360, 65 besides their 7,337 male and female slaves; and they also had 200 male and female singers.(AC) 66 They had 736 horses,(AD) 245 mules, 67 435 camels and 6,720 donkeys.
68 When they arrived at the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families(AE) gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site. 69 According to their ability they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics[b] of gold, 5,000 minas[c] of silver and 100 priestly garments.
70 The priests, the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers and the temple servants settled in their own towns, along with some of the other people, and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.(AF)

2 Đây là những người trong tỉnh Giu-đa đã trở về từ giữa vòng những người phu tù bị lưu đày mà Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, đã đày qua Ba-by-lôn. Họ trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, ai nấy về thành mình. 2 Họ trở về cùng với Xô-rô-ba-bên, Giê-sua, Nê-hê-mi, Sê-ra-gia, Rê-ê-la-gia, Mạc-đô-chê, Binh-san, Biệt-vai, Rê-hum, và Ba-a-na.

Hô-bai-gia, Ha-cốt, Bát-xi-lai (ông này cưới một trong những cô con gái của Bát-xi-lai, người Ga-la-át, nên người ta gọi ông theo tên cha vợ).
62 Những người này tìm tên họ trong danh sách những người đăng ký theo gia phả, nhưng không tìm được, nên bị kể là ô uế và truất khỏi chức tế lễ. 63 Quan tổng đốc cấm họ dùng thức ăn chí thánh cho đến khi nào có thầy tế lễ dùng U-rim và Thu-mim cầu hỏi Đức Chúa Trời.[c]
64 Toàn thể hội chúng tổng cộng là 42,360 người. 65 Ngoài ra, có 7,337 nam nữ gia nhân và 200 nam nữ ca sĩ,[d] 66 736 con ngựa, 245 con la, 67 435 con lạc đà, và 6,720 con lừa.
68 Khi về đến đền thờ CHÚA tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, một số các trưởng tộc tự nguyện dâng hiến tài vật vào đền Đức Chúa Trời để dựng lại đền thờ trên nền cũ. 69 Tùy theo khả năng, họ dâng vào quỹ xây cất sáu mươi mốt ngàn đa-riếc[e] vàng, năm ngàn mi-na[f] bạc, và 100 bộ lễ phục cho các thầy tế lễ.
70 Các thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, và một số thường dân định cư tại Giê-ru-sa-lem,[g] còn những ca nhạc sĩ, những người gác cổng, và những người phục dịch đền thờ định cư trong thành mình. Vậy toàn thể dân Y-sơ-ra-ên định cư trong thành mình.
