⁸ You found his heart ^(A)faithful before You,
And made a ^(B)covenant with him
To give the land of the Canaanites,
The Hittites, the Amorites,
The Perizzites, the Jebusites,
And the Girgashites—
To give it to his descendants.
You ^(C)have performed Your words,
For You are righteous.

^137 (A)Righteous are You, O Lord,
And upright are Your judgments.

12 Righteous ^(A)are You, O Lord, when I plead with You;
Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments.
^(B)Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why are those happy who deal so treacherously?
