Rebuilding the House of God Begins Again

5 And the prophets, ^(A)Haggai the prophet and ^(B)Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them.

¹⁴ And ^(A)the elders of the Jews were building and succeeding through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. So they built and completed it according to the decree of the God of Israel and the decree ^(B)of Cyrus, ^(C)Darius, and ^(D)Artaxerxes king of Persia.

³ Then the word of Yahweh came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,

¹² Then ^(A)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and ^(B)Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, ^(C)listened to the voice of Yahweh their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God had sent him. And the people ^(D)feared Yahweh. ¹³ Then Haggai, the ^(E)messenger of Yahweh, spoke by the commissioned message of Yahweh to the people saying, “‘^(F)I am with you,’ declares Yahweh.”

The Glory of Yahweh Will Fill the Temple

2 On the twenty-first of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh came by the hand of ^(A)Haggai the prophet saying,

¹⁰ On the ^(A)twenty-fourth of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Haggai the prophet, saying,

Yahweh Chooses Zerubbabel

²⁰ Then the word of Yahweh came a second time to Haggai on the ^(A)twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,
