42 Luego me sacó al atrio exterior, hacia el norte(A), y me llevó a la cámara(B) que estaba frente a la zona separada y frente al edificio hacia el norte(C). 2 A lo largo de la longitud, que era de cien codos[a](D), estaba la puerta del norte; la anchura era de cincuenta codos. 3 Frente a los veinte codos(E) del atrio interior, y frente al pavimento del atrio exterior, había una galería[b](F) frente a la otra galería[c] en los tres pisos(G). 4 Y delante de las cámaras había un corredor interior de diez codos de ancho, una vía de cien codos[d]; y sus entradas daban al norte(H). 5 Las cámaras superiores eran más estrechas porque las galerías[e] les quitaban más espacio que a las inferiores y a las intermedias del edificio(I). 6 Pues estaban en tres pisos(J) y no tenían pilares como los pilares de los atrios; por tanto las cámaras superiores se estrechaban a partir del suelo más que las inferiores y las intermedias. 7 Y el muro exterior a lo largo de las cámaras, en dirección al atrio exterior frente a las cámaras(K), tenía cincuenta codos de largo. 8 Porque la longitud de las cámaras que estaban en el atrio exterior era de cincuenta codos; y[f] las que estaban frente al templo tenían cien codos(L). 9 Y debajo de estas cámaras estaba la entrada del lado oriental, para entrar en ellas desde el atrio exterior(M).
10 A lo ancho del muro del atrio(N) hacia el oriente(O), frente a la zona separada y frente al edificio, había cámaras(P). 11 Y el corredor delante de ellas era semejante al de las cámaras que estaban al norte(Q); su longitud era igual a su anchura; y todas sus salidas, así como sus disposiciones y sus entradas, eran iguales. 12 Y correspondiendo a las entradas de las cámaras(R) que daban hacia el sur, había una entrada al comienzo del corredor, el corredor frente al muro que daba al oriente, según se entra a ellas.
13 Entonces él me dijo: Las cámaras del norte(S) y las cámaras del sur que están frente a la zona separada, son las cámaras santas donde los sacerdotes que están cerca del Señor(T), comerán las cosas santísimas(U). Allí pondrán las cosas santísimas, la ofrenda de cereal, la ofrenda por el pecado y la ofrenda por la culpa; porque el lugar es santo(V). 14 Cuando entren los sacerdotes allí, no saldrán[g] al atrio exterior desde el santuario sin haber dejado las vestiduras con que ministran, porque son santas. Se pondrán otras vestiduras(W) para poder acercarse a lo que es del pueblo(X).
15 Cuando acabó de medir el interior del templo, me sacó por el camino de la puerta que daba al oriente(Y), y lo midió todo alrededor. 16 Midió el lado oriental con la caña de medir, y tenía alrededor quinientas cañas de[h] la caña de medir(Z). 17 Midió el lado norte con la caña de medir, y tenía alrededor quinientas cañas. 18 Al lado sur midió quinientas cañas con la caña de medir. 19 Se volvió al lado occidental y midió quinientas cañas con la caña de medir. 20 Por los cuatro lados lo midió; tenía un muro todo alrededor(AA) de quinientas cañas de largo y quinientas de ancho(AB), para dividir[i] entre lo sagrado y lo profano(AC).

42 Me trajo luego al atrio exterior hacia el norte, y me llevó a la cámara que estaba delante del espacio abierto que quedaba enfrente del edificio, hacia el norte. 2 Por delante de la puerta del norte su longitud era de cien codos, y el ancho de cincuenta codos. 3 Frente a los veinte codos que había en el atrio interior, y enfrente del enlosado que había en el atrio exterior, estaban las cámaras, las unas enfrente de las otras en tres pisos. 4 Y delante de las cámaras había un corredor de diez codos de ancho hacia adentro, con una vía de un codo; y sus puertas daban al norte. 5 Y las cámaras más altas eran más estrechas; porque las galerías quitaban de ellas más que de las bajas y de las de en medio del edificio. 6 Porque estaban en tres pisos, y no tenían columnas como las columnas de los atrios; por tanto, eran más estrechas que las de abajo y las de en medio, desde el suelo. 7 Y el muro que estaba afuera enfrente de las cámaras, hacia el atrio exterior delante de las cámaras, tenía cincuenta codos de largo. 8 Porque la longitud de las cámaras del atrio de afuera era de cincuenta codos; y delante de la fachada del templo había cien codos. 9 Y debajo de las cámaras estaba la entrada al lado oriental, para entrar en él desde el atrio exterior.
10 A lo largo del muro del atrio, hacia el oriente, enfrente del espacio abierto, y delante del edificio, había cámaras. 11 Y el corredor que había delante de ellas era semejante al de las cámaras que estaban hacia el norte; tanto su longitud como su ancho eran lo mismo, y todas sus salidas, conforme a sus puertas y conforme a sus entradas. 12 Así también eran las puertas de las cámaras que estaban hacia el sur; había una puerta al comienzo del corredor que había enfrente del muro al lado oriental, para quien entraba en las cámaras.
13 Y me dijo: Las cámaras del norte y las del sur, que están delante del espacio abierto, son cámaras santas en las cuales los sacerdotes que se acercan a Jehová comerán las santas ofrendas; allí pondrán las ofrendas santas, la ofrenda y la expiación y el sacrificio por el pecado, porque el lugar es santo. 14 Cuando los sacerdotes entren, no saldrán del lugar santo al atrio exterior, sino que allí dejarán sus vestiduras con que ministran, porque son santas; y se vestirán otros vestidos, y así se acercarán a lo que es del pueblo.
15 Y luego que acabó las medidas de la casa de adentro, me sacó por el camino de la puerta que miraba hacia el oriente, y lo midió todo alrededor. 16 Midió el lado oriental con la caña de medir, quinientas cañas de la caña de medir alrededor. 17 Midió al lado del norte, quinientas cañas de la caña de medir alrededor. 18 Midió al lado del sur, quinientas cañas de la caña de medir. 19 Rodeó al lado del occidente, y midió quinientas cañas de la caña de medir. 20 A los cuatro lados lo midió; tenía un muro todo alrededor, de quinientas cañas de longitud y quinientas cañas de ancho, para hacer separación entre el santuario y el lugar profano.

42 Después aquel hombre me llevó al patio, y me hizo entrar en el edificio de cuartos que estaba hacia el norte, en la parte posterior del templo, frente al patio. 2 Por el lado norte, el edificio medía cincuenta metros de largo y veinticinco metros de ancho. 3 Tenía tres pisos. Por un lado daba al espacio abierto que medía diez metros de ancho, y por el otro daba al piso empedrado del patio exterior. 4 Frente a los cuartos había un pasillo de cinco metros de ancho y cincuenta de largo. Las puertas de los cuartos daban al norte.
5 Los cuartos del piso superior eran más pequeños que los del piso intermedio, y éstos eran menores que los de la planta baja, 6 porque el piso de arriba no tenía columnas como el piso de abajo. Por eso se iban haciendo más angostos.
7-8 Los cuartos que daban al patio medían, todos juntos, veinticinco metros de largo, lo mismo que el muro que tenían enfrente. Los cuartos que daban hacia el templo medían, todos juntos, cincuenta metros de largo. 9 A la planta baja de esos cuartos se podía entrar sólo por el lado este del patio.
10 Por el lado sur había otro edificio de cuartos. Esos cuartos estaban detrás del templo, y también a lo largo del muro del patio. 11 En todo eran iguales a los del lado norte. 12 A estos cuartos del lado sur se podía entrar sólo por el lado este, por donde comenzaba el pasillo frente al muro. 13 Aquel hombre me explicó lo siguiente:
«Los cuartos del lado norte están destinados a un uso especial, lo mismo que los del lado sur, que están frente al patio. Los sacerdotes comen allí las ofrendas que se presentan a Dios. Como son lugares muy especiales, allí también se llevan todas las ofrendas que se presentan a Dios. 14 Cuando los sacerdotes salen de esos cuartos, después de haber cumplido con sus servicios, deben dejar allí sus vestiduras especiales de sacerdotes. No se les permite salir con esas vestiduras al patio donde está el pueblo, sino que tienen que cambiarse de ropa».
15 En cuanto el hombre terminó de medir el templo, me sacó por la puerta que da al este, y empezó a medir la muralla. 16-20 Luego midió los cuatro lados de la muralla, y cada lado medía doscientos cincuenta metros de largo. Esta muralla servía para separar el templo del resto de la ciudad.

42 Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the north.
2 Before the length of an hundred cubits was the north door, and the breadth was fifty cubits.
3 Over against the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and over against the pavement which was for the utter court, was gallery against gallery in three stories.
4 And before the chambers was a walk to ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors toward the north.
5 Now the upper chambers were shorter: for the galleries were higher than these, than the lower, and than the middlemost of the building.
6 For they were in three stories, but had not pillars as the pillars of the courts: therefore the building was straitened more than the lowest and the middlemost from the ground.
7 And the wall that was without over against the chambers, toward the utter court on the forepart of the chambers, the length thereof was fifty cubits.
8 For the length of the chambers that were in the utter court was fifty cubits: and, lo, before the temple were an hundred cubits.
9 And from under these chambers was the entry on the east side, as one goeth into them from the utter court.
10 The chambers were in the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east, over against the separate place, and over against the building.
11 And the way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their goings out were both according to their fashions, and according to their doors.
12 And according to the doors of the chambers that were toward the south was a door in the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall toward the east, as one entereth into them.
13 Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the Lord shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.
14 When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.
15 Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me forth toward the gate whose prospect is toward the east, and measured it round about.
16 He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
17 He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
18 He measured the south side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.
19 He turned about to the west side, and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
20 He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place.

42 Then he led me out to the outer court, toward the north, and brought me to the chamber that was opposite the courtyard and opposite the building on the north. 2 Its length was 175 feet[a] on the north side,[b] and its width 87½ feet.[c] 3 Opposite the 35 feet[d] that belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement that belonged to the outer court, gallery faced gallery in the three stories. 4 In front of the chambers was a walkway on the inner side, 17½ feet[e] wide at a distance of 1¾ feet,[f] and their entrances were on the north. 5 Now the upper chambers were narrower, because the galleries took more space[g] from them than from the lower and middle chambers of the building. 6 For they were in three stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore, the upper chambers[h] were set back from the ground more than the lower and middle ones. 7 As for the outer wall by the side of the chambers, toward the outer court facing the chambers, it was 87½ feet[i] long. 8 For the chambers on the outer court were 87½ feet[j] long, while those facing the temple were 175 feet[k] long. 9 Below these chambers was a passage on the east side as one enters from the outer court.
10 At the beginning[l] of the wall of the court toward the south,[m] facing the courtyard and the building, were chambers 11 like those on the north with a passage in front of them. The chambers that were toward the south were the same length and width as those on the north, and had matching exits and entrances and arrangements. 12 There was an opening at the head of the passage, the passage in front of the corresponding wall toward the east when one enters.
13 Then he said to me, “The north chambers and the south chambers that face the courtyard are holy chambers where the priests[n] who approach the Lord will eat the most holy offerings. There they will place the most holy offerings—the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering, because the place is holy. 14 When the priests enter, then they will not go out from the sanctuary to the outer court without taking off their garments in which they minister, for these are holy; they will put on other garments, then they will go near the places where the people are.”
15 Now when he had finished measuring the interior of the temple, he led me out by the gate that faces east and measured all around. 16 He measured the east side with the measuring stick[o] as 875 feet[p] by the measuring stick. 17 He measured the north side as 875 feet by the measuring stick. 18 He measured the south side as 875 feet by the measuring stick. 19 He turned to the west side and measured 875 feet by the measuring stick. 20 He measured it on all four sides. It had a wall around it, 875 feet long and 875 feet wide, to separate the holy and common places.
