41 Después me introdujo en la nave, la gran habitación principal del templo, y midió los pilares que formaban su portal. Formaban un cuadrado de tres metros con quince centímetros por lado. 2 El vestíbulo tenía una anchura de cinco metros y cuarto y un largo de dos metros con sesenta y dos centímetros. La nave misma tenía diez metros y medio de ancho y veintiún metros de largo.

3 Luego entró en la habitación interior, al final de la nave, y midió las columnas de la entrada. Estas tenían un espesor de un metro con cinco centímetros; el portal tenía un ancho de tres metros con quince centímetros, con un zaguán de tres metros con sesenta y siete centímetros de largo detrás de él. 4 La habitación interior formaba una sala de diez metros y medio. «Este», me dijo, «es el Lugar Exclusivo».

5 Luego midió el muro del templo y encontró que tenía un espesor de tres metros con quince centímetros con una hilera de habitaciones por el lado exterior. Cada habitación tenía un ancho de dos metros con diez centímetros. 6 Estas habitaciones estaban en tres pisos sobrepuestos, con treinta habitaciones en cada piso. Toda la estructura estaba sostenida por vigas, pero no estaba unida al muro del templo. 7 Cada piso era más ancho que aquel que estaba debajo, en correspondencia con el muro del templo que se iba haciendo más angosto a medida que subía. 10 A diez metros y medio de distancia de la plataforma, en ambos lados del templo, había otra hilera de habitaciones en el patio interior. 11 Dos puertas conducían de los pisos de habitaciones al patio de la plataforma, que tenía un ancho de dos metros con sesenta y dos centímetros; una puerta miraba hacia el norte y la otra hacia el sur.

12 Un edificio grande estaba sobre el oeste, mirando hacia el patio del templo que tenía treinta y seis metros de ancho y cuarenta y siete de largo. Sus paredes tenían dos metros con sesenta y dos centímetros de espesor. 13 Luego midió el templo y los patios que lo rodeaban. La zona formaba un cuadrado de cincuenta y dos metros y medio. 14 El patio interior al este del templo también tenía cincuenta y dos metros y medio de ancho, 15 como también el edificio al oeste del templo, incluyendo sus dos paredes.

La nave del templo, el Lugar Exclusivo y el vestíbulo estaban cubiertos de madera, y los tres lugares tenían ventanas empotradas. 16 Las paredes interiores del templo estaban cubiertas de madera arriba y abajo de las ventanas. 17 El espacio arriba de la puerta que conducía al Lugar Exclusivo también estaba cubierto de madera. 18 Las paredes estaban decoradas con tallados de querubines, cada uno con dos caras, y de palmeras alternando con los querubines. 19 Una cara —la de un hombre— miraba hacia la palmera a un costado, y la otra cara —la de un león— miraba hacia la palmera del otro lado. 20 Y así seguía en toda la pared interior del templo.

23 Tanto la nave como el Lugar Exclusivo tenían puertas dobles, 24 cada una con dos secciones y hojas que giraban. 25 Las puertas que conducían a la nave estaban decoradas con querubines y palmeras, tal como las paredes. The Inner Temple

41 Then he brought me to the outer sanctuary and measured the jambs; the jambs were 10½ feet[a] wide on each side. 2 The width of the entrance was 17½ feet,[b] and the sides[c] of the entrance were 8¾ feet[d] on each side. He measured the length of the outer sanctuary as 70 feet[e] and its width as 35 feet.[f]

3 Then he went into the inner sanctuary and measured the jambs of the entrance as 3½ feet,[g] the entrance as 10½ feet,[h] and the width of the entrance as 12¼ feet.[i] 4 Then he measured its length as 35 feet[j] and its width as 35 feet,[k] before the outer sanctuary. He said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.”

5 Then he measured the wall of the temple[l] as 10½ feet[m] and the width of the side chambers as 7 feet,[n] all around the temple. 6 The side chambers were in three stories, one above the other, thirty in each story. There were offsets in the wall all around to serve as supports for the side chambers, so that the supports were not in the wall of the temple. 7 The side chambers surrounding the temple were wider at each successive story,[o] for the structure surrounding[p] the temple went up story by story all around the temple. For this reason the width of the temple increased as it went up, and one went up from the lowest story to the highest by the way of the middle story.

8 I saw that the temple had a raised platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers were a full measuring stick[q] of 10½ feet[r] high. 9 The width of the outer wall of the side chambers was 8¾ feet,[s] and the open area between the side chambers of the temple 10 and the chambers of the court was 35 feet[t] in width all around the temple on every side. 11 There were entrances from the side chambers toward the open area, one entrance toward the north, and another entrance toward the south; the width of the open area was 8¾ feet[u] all around.

12 The building that was facing the temple courtyard at the west side was 122½ feet[v] wide; the wall of the building was 8¾ feet[w] thick all around, and its length 157½ feet.[x]

13 Then he measured the temple as 175 feet[y] long, the courtyard of the temple and the building and its walls as 175 feet[z] long, 14 and also the width of the front of the temple and the courtyard on the east as 175 feet.[aa]

15 Then he measured the length of the building facing the courtyard at the rear of the temple, with its galleries on either side as 175 feet.[ab]

The interior of the outer sanctuary and the porch of the court,[ac] 16 as well as the thresholds, narrow windows and galleries all around on three sides facing the threshold, were paneled with wood all around, from the ground up to the windows (now the windows were covered), 17 to the space above the entrance, to the inner room, and on the outside, and on all the walls in the inner room and outside, by measurement.[ad] 18 It was made with cherubim and decorative palm trees, with a palm tree between each cherub. Each cherub had two faces: 19 a human face toward the palm tree on one side and a lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved on the whole temple all around; 20 from the ground to the area above the entrance, cherubim and decorative palm trees were carved on the wall of the outer sanctuary. 21 The doorposts of the outer sanctuary were square. In front of the sanctuary one doorpost looked just like the other. 22 The altar was of wood, 5¼ feet[ae] high, with its length 3½ feet;[af] its corners, its length,[ag] and its walls were of wood. He said to me, “This is the table that is before the Lord.” 23 The outer sanctuary and the inner sanctuary each had a double door. 24 Each of the doors had two leaves, two swinging[ah] leaves; two leaves for one door and two leaves for the other. 25 On the doors of the outer sanctuary were carved cherubim and palm trees, like those carved on the walls, and there was a canopy[ai] of wood on the front of the outside porch. 26 There were narrow windows and decorative palm trees on either side of the side walls of the porch; this is what the side chambers of the temple and the canopies were like.

41 Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.

2 And the breadth of the door was ten cubits; and the sides of the door were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits.

3 Then went he inward, and measured the post of the door, two cubits; and the door, six cubits; and the breadth of the door, seven cubits.

4 So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place.

5 After he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of every side chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side.

6 And the side chambers were three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which was of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house.

7 And there was an enlarging, and a winding about still upward to the side chambers: for the winding about of the house went still upward round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house was still upward, and so increased from the lowest chamber to the highest by the midst.

8 I saw also the height of the house round about: the foundations of the side chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.

9 The thickness of the wall, which was for the side chamber without, was five cubits: and that which was left was the place of the side chambers that were within.

10 And between the chambers was the wideness of twenty cubits round about the house on every side.

11 And the doors of the side chambers were toward the place that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.

12 Now the building that was before the separate place at the end toward the west was seventy cubits broad; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits.

13 So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long;

14 Also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits.

15 And he measured the length of the building over against the separate place which was behind it, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner temple, and the porches of the court;

16 The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;

17 To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure.

18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;

19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

20 From the ground unto above the door were cherubims and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple.

21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other.

22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the Lord.

23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.

24 And the doors had two leaves apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door.

25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without.

26 And there were narrow windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch, and upon the side chambers of the house, and thick planks.
