Elegía por la caída de Tiro
27 El Señor me dirigió la palabra:
2 — Por lo que a ti respecta, hijo de hombre, entona una endecha sobre Tiro. 3 Dirás a Tiro, la reina de las rutas del mar, que comercia con los pueblos de las costas lejanas: Esto dice el Señor Dios:
Eras, Tiro, un navío
de acabada belleza.
4 Tus fronteras se extendían
por el corazón del mar;
tus constructores te dotaron
de perfecta hermosura.
5 Te construyeron con tablas
de cipreses de Senir;
usaron cedro del Líbano
para fabricar tu mástil,
6 con encinas de Basán
hicieron tus remos;
te pusieron cubierta de ciprés
traído de las costas de Quitín;
7 hecha de lino recamado de Egipto,
tu vela te servía de enseña;
tu toldo, de púrpura y grana,
era de las costas de Elisá.
8 Los habitantes de Sidón y Arvad
eran tus remeros.
Tus expertos, que iban a bordo,
hacían de timoneles.
9 Los ancianos de Guebal,
con sus expertos a bordo,
reparaban tus averías.
Navíos y marineros
intercambiaban contigo mercancías.
10 Los de Persia, Lud y Put
se alistaban como soldados en tu ejército;
en ti colgaban escudos y yelmos,
y así te daban esplendor.
11 Los de Arvad, con tu ejército, guarnecían el contorno de tus murallas; los de Gamad custodiaban tus torres. Colgaban sus escudos en torno a tus murallas y hacían de ti un dechado de belleza. 12 Tarsis era tu cliente, atraída por la abundancia de tus riquezas; a cambio te daba plata, hierro, estaño y plomo. 13 Javán, Túbal y Mésec comerciaban contigo; a cambio te proporcionaban esclavos y utensilios de bronce. 14 Los de Bet Togarmá te daban a cambio caballos de tiro y de competición, así como mulos. 15 También comerciaba contigo la gente de Rodán; numerosos enclaves marítimos eran clientes tuyos, y a cambio de tus servicios te daban colmillos de marfil y madera de ébano. 16 Edom era cliente tuyo, atraído por la abundancia de tus manufacturas; a cambio te daba malaquita, púrpura, telas recamadas, lino, corales y rubíes. 17 También Judá e Israel comerciaban contigo; a cambio de tus servicios te proporcionaban trigo de Minit, galletas, miel, aceite y bálsamo. 18 Damasco era cliente tuya, atraída por la abundancia de tus manufacturas y de tus riquezas; a cambio te daba vino de Jelbón y lana de Sajar. 19 Dan y Javán, desde Uzal, te proporcionaban hierro forjado, canela y caña aromática. 20 Dedán comerciaba contigo en sillas de montar. 21 Arabia y todos los príncipes de Quedar intercambiaban contigo productos: corderos, carneros y machos cabríos. 22 Los mercaderes de Sabá, Asur, Quilmad y Ramá comerciaban contigo; te daban a cambio perfumes exquisitos, piedras preciosas de toda clase y oro. 23 Jarán, Cané y Edén comerciaban contigo 24 en vestidos de lujo, mantos de púrpura, telas recamadas, tapices multicolores y sólidas cuerdas trenzadas. 25 Las naves de Tarsis transportaban tus mercancías.
Te hiciste rica y opulenta,
anclada en el corazón del mar.
26 Pero los remeros de tus naves
te condujeron a alta mar
y el viento del este te destrozó
allí, en el corazón del mar.
27 Tus riquezas, mercancías y fletes,
tus marinos, timoneles y calafates,
tus agentes comerciales, tus guerreros
y toda la tripulación que transportas,
se hundirán en medio del mar,
contigo, el día que naufragues.
28 Al grito de auxilio de tus timoneles
todas las costas se asustarán;
29 entonces desembarcarán de sus naves
todos los que empuñan los remos;
marineros y hombres de mar
se quedarán quietos en tierra.
30 Lanzarán gritos por ti,
acompañados de amargos gemidos;
se echarán polvo en la cabeza,
se revolcarán en la ceniza;
31 se raparán la cabeza por tu causa,
se ceñirán la cintura de sayal;
llorarán amargamente por ti,
harán un amargo duelo.
32 Entonarán por ti una elegía,
te dedicarán una lamentación:
“¿Quién era comparable a Tiro
en medio del mar?”.
33 Cuando desembarcabas tus mercancías,
saciabas a pueblos numerosos;
con tus riquezas y productos abundantes
enriquecías a los reyes de la tierra.
34 Ahora, destrozada por las olas,
yaces en el fondo del mar;
tu carga y tu tripulación
se hundieron junto contigo.
35 Todos los habitantes de las costas
quedaron desolados por ti;
sus reyes están horripilados,
tienen el rostro demudado.
36 Comerciantes de otros pueblos
silban asombrados por ti:
te has convertido en espanto,
has desaparecido para siempre.

27 És lõn az Úr beszéde hozzám, mondván:
2 Te pedig, embernek fia, kezdj gyászéneket Tírusról.
3 És mondjad Tírusnak: Ki lakol a tenger révhelyein, ki a népek között kereskedik sok sziget felé, így szól az Úr Isten: Oh Tírus, te ezt mondtad: Én tökéletes szépségben vagyok.
4 A tengerek szívében vannak határaid, építõid tökéletessé tették szépségedet.
5 Senir cziprusaiból építették mindkét oldaladat, czédrust hoztak a Libánonról, hogy árbóczfát csináljanak néked.
6 Básán cserfáiból csinálták evezõidet; evezõpadjaidat a cziprusiak szigeteirõl való sudar czédrusba foglalt elefántcsontból csinálták.
7 Égyiptomi hímes fehér gyolcs vala vitorlád, hogy legyen zászlód; Elisának szigeteirõl való kék és piros bíbor volt [sátrad] borítékja.
8 Sidon és Arvad lakói voltak evezõid; a te bölcseid, oh Tírus, kik benned valának, azok voltak kormányosaid.
9 Gebal vénei és bölcsei voltak benned, kik hasadékaidat javítgaták; a tenger minden hajója és hajósa volt benned, hogy kicseréljék árúidat.
10 Perzsák és lidiaiak és libiaiak voltak seregedben hadakozó férfiaid, paizst és sisakot függesztettek fel benned, a mik ékessé tevének.
11 Arvad fiai és sereged voltak kõfalaidon köröskörül, és kemény vitézek voltak tornyaidban; paizsaikat felfüggesztették kõfalaidon köröskörül, mik tökéletessé tették szépségedet.
12 Tarsis volt a te kereskedõtársad, sok különféle gazdagsága miatt: ezüstöt, vasat, ónt és ólmot adtak õk árúidért.
13 Jáván, Tubál és Mések, ezek a te kalmáraid; rabszolgákat és rézedényeket adtak cserébe árúidért.
14 Tógarma házából lovakat és lovagokat és öszvéreket adtak néked árúkul.
15 Dedán fiai a te kalmáraid, sok sziget kereskedése van hatalmad alatt, elefántcsont-szarukat és ébenfát hoztak néked adóba.
16 Arám a te kereskedõtársad mestermûveid sokasága miatt; gránátot, bíbort, hímes ruhákat, fehér gyolcsot, korálokat és rubint adtak õk árúidért.
17 Júda és Izráel földe, ezek a te kalmáraid; búzát Minnithbõl és édes süteményt és mézet és olajat és balzsamot adtak csereárúidért.
18 Damaskus a te kereskedõtársad mestermûveid sokaságában, sok különféle gazdagságod miatt, - Helbon borával és hófehér gyapjúval.
19 Vedán és Jáván Uzálból adtak árúidért: kovácsolt vasat, kásiát és jó illatú nádat, ezeket csereárúidért.
20 Dedán a te kalmárod, lovagláshoz való nyeregtakarókkal.
21 Arábia és Kédár fejedelmei, õk mindnyájan hatalmad alatt kereskedének; bárányokkal, kosokkal és bakokkal kereskedének veled.
22 Séba és Raema kalmárai a te kalmáraid; mindenféle drága fûszerszámokat és mindenféle drágaköveket és aranyat adtak õk árúidért.
23 Hárán és Kanne és Eden, Seba kalmárai, Assiria [és] Kilmad [mind] a te kereskedõtársad.
24 Ezek a te kalmáraid tökéletes árúkkal, bíbor és hímes köntösökkel és drága ruháknak kötelekkel egybekötött és czédrusfából csinált szekrényeivel, a te sokadalmadban.
25 Tarsis hajói hordozták árúidat, és megtelél, és felette igen híressé levél a tengerek szívében.
26 Nagy vizekre vivének téged a te evezõid, a keleti szél összetört téged a tengerek szívében.
27 Gazdagságod és árúid, csereárúid, hajósaid és kormányosaid, hasadékaid javítgatói és csereárúid árúsai és minden hadakozó férfiaid, a kik benned vannak, és minden benned való sokaság, beleesnek a tengerek szívébe zuhanásod napján.
28 Kormányosaid kiáltásának hangjára megrendülnek a mezõségek.
29 És kiszállnak hajóikból mindnyájan, kik az evezõt fogják, hajósok [és] a tengernek minden kormányosi a szárazföldre lépnek.
30 És hallatják fölötted hangjokat, s keservesen kiáltanak, s port hintenek fejökre, hamuban fetrengenek.
31 És kopaszra nyiratkoznak miattad, és zsákba övezkednek, és sírnak feletted lelki keserûségben keserves sírással.
32 És kezdenek fölötted fájdalmukban gyászéneket, és így énekelnek rólad: Ki volt olyan, mint Tírus? mely [most] mint temetõ a tenger közepette!
33 Mikor kimennek vala árúid a tengerekbõl, sok népet megelégítél; gazdagságod és csereárúid sokaságával meggazdagítád a földnek királyait.
34 Most összeomlottál a tengerekrõl le a vizek mélységébe, csereárúid és egész sokaságod benned elsülyedt.
35 A szigetek minden lakosai elborzadnak miattad, s királyaik iszonyodva megiszonyodnak, arczaik rángatóznak.
36 A népek közt való kereskedõk fütyölnek feletted. Rémségessé lettél, s többé örökké nem leszel!

A Lament Over Tyre
27 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, take up a lament(A) concerning Tyre. 3 Say to Tyre,(B) situated at the gateway to the sea,(C) merchant of peoples on many coasts, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘You say, Tyre,
“I am perfect in beauty.(D)”
4 Your domain was on the high seas;
your builders brought your beauty to perfection.(E)
5 They made all your timbers
of juniper from Senir[a];(F)
they took a cedar from Lebanon(G)
to make a mast for you.
6 Of oaks(H) from Bashan
they made your oars;
of cypress wood[b] from the coasts of Cyprus(I)
they made your deck, adorned with ivory.
7 Fine embroidered linen(J) from Egypt was your sail
and served as your banner;
your awnings were of blue and purple(K)
from the coasts of Elishah.(L)
8 Men of Sidon and Arvad(M) were your oarsmen;
your skilled men, Tyre, were aboard as your sailors.(N)
9 Veteran craftsmen of Byblos(O) were on board
as shipwrights to caulk your seams.
All the ships of the sea(P) and their sailors
came alongside to trade for your wares.
10 “‘Men of Persia,(Q) Lydia(R) and Put(S)
served as soldiers in your army.
They hung their shields(T) and helmets on your walls,
bringing you splendor.
11 Men of Arvad and Helek
guarded your walls on every side;
men of Gammad
were in your towers.
They hung their shields around your walls;
they brought your beauty to perfection.(U)
12 “‘Tarshish(V) did business with you because of your great wealth of goods;(W) they exchanged silver, iron, tin and lead for your merchandise.
13 “‘Greece,(X) Tubal and Meshek(Y) did business with you; they traded human beings(Z) and articles of bronze for your wares.
14 “‘Men of Beth Togarmah(AA) exchanged chariot horses, cavalry horses and mules for your merchandise.
15 “‘The men of Rhodes[c](AB) traded with you, and many coastlands(AC) were your customers; they paid you with ivory(AD) tusks and ebony.
16 “‘Aram[d](AE) did business with you because of your many products; they exchanged turquoise,(AF) purple fabric, embroidered work, fine linen,(AG) coral(AH) and rubies for your merchandise.
17 “‘Judah and Israel traded with you; they exchanged wheat(AI) from Minnith(AJ) and confections,[e] honey, olive oil and balm(AK) for your wares.(AL)
18 “‘Damascus(AM) did business with you because of your many products and great wealth of goods.(AN) They offered wine from Helbon, wool from Zahar 19 and casks of wine from Izal(AO) in exchange for your wares: wrought iron, cassia(AP) and calamus.
20 “‘Dedan(AQ) traded in saddle blankets with you.
21 “‘Arabia(AR) and all the princes of Kedar(AS) were your customers; they did business with you in lambs, rams and goats.
22 “‘The merchants of Sheba(AT) and Raamah traded with you; for your merchandise they exchanged the finest of all kinds of spices(AU) and precious stones, and gold.(AV)
23 “‘Harran,(AW) Kanneh and Eden(AX) and merchants of Sheba, Ashur(AY) and Kilmad traded with you. 24 In your marketplace they traded with you beautiful garments, blue fabric, embroidered work and multicolored rugs with cords twisted and tightly knotted.
25 “‘The ships of Tarshish(AZ) serve
as carriers for your wares.
You are filled with heavy cargo
as you sail the sea.(BA)
26 Your oarsmen take you
out to the high seas.
But the east wind(BB) will break you to pieces
far out at sea.
27 Your wealth,(BC) merchandise and wares,
your mariners, sailors and shipwrights,
your merchants and all your soldiers,
and everyone else on board
will sink into the heart of the sea(BD)
on the day of your shipwreck.
28 The shorelands will quake(BE)
when your sailors cry out.
29 All who handle the oars
will abandon their ships;
the mariners and all the sailors
will stand on the shore.
30 They will raise their voice
and cry bitterly over you;
they will sprinkle dust(BF) on their heads
and roll(BG) in ashes.(BH)
31 They will shave their heads(BI) because of you
and will put on sackcloth.
They will weep(BJ) over you with anguish of soul
and with bitter mourning.(BK)
32 As they wail and mourn over you,
they will take up a lament(BL) concerning you:
“Who was ever silenced like Tyre,
surrounded by the sea?(BM)”
33 When your merchandise went out on the seas,(BN)
you satisfied many nations;
with your great wealth(BO) and your wares
you enriched the kings of the earth.
34 Now you are shattered by the sea
in the depths of the waters;
your wares and all your company
have gone down with you.(BP)
35 All who live in the coastlands(BQ)
are appalled(BR) at you;
their kings shudder with horror
and their faces are distorted with fear.(BS)
36 The merchants among the nations scoff at you;(BT)
you have come to a horrible end
and will be no more.(BU)’”

27 The word of the Lord came again to me, saying, 2 “Now, son of man, (A)take up a lamentation for Tyre, 3 and say to Tyre, (B)‘You who [a]are situated at the entrance of the sea, (C)merchant of the peoples on many coastlands, thus says the Lord God:
“O Tyre, you have said,
(D)‘I am perfect in beauty.’
4 Your borders are in the midst of the seas.
Your builders have perfected your beauty.
5 They [b]made all your planks of fir trees from (E)Senir;
They took a cedar from Lebanon to make you a mast.
6 Of (F)oaks from Bashan they made your oars;
The company of Ashurites have inlaid your planks
With ivory from (G)the coasts of [c]Cyprus.
7 Fine embroidered linen from Egypt was what you spread for your sail;
Blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah was what covered you.
8 “Inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen;
Your wise men, O Tyre, were in you;
They became your pilots.
9 Elders of (H)Gebal and its wise men
Were in you to caulk your seams;
All the ships of the sea
And their oarsmen were in you
To market your merchandise.
10 “Those from Persia, [d]Lydia, and [e]Libya
Were in your army as men of war;
They hung shield and helmet in you;
They gave splendor to you.
11 Men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around,
And the men of Gammad were in your towers;
They hung their shields on your walls all around;
They made (I)your beauty perfect.
12 (J)“Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods. 13 (K)Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered (L)human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 Those from the house of (M)Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules. 15 The men of (N)Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment. 16 Syria was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made. They gave you for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidery, fine linen, corals, and rubies. 17 Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded for your merchandise wheat of (O)Minnith, millet, honey, oil, and (P)balm. 18 Damascus was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made, because of your many luxury items, with the wine of Helbon and with white wool. 19 Dan and Javan paid for your wares, [f]traversing back and forth. Wrought iron, cassia, and cane were among your merchandise. 20 (Q)Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding. 21 Arabia and all the princes of (R)Kedar were your regular merchants. They traded with you in lambs, rams, and goats. 22 The merchants of (S)Sheba and Raamah were your merchants. They traded for your wares the choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold. 23 (T)Haran, Canneh, Eden, the merchants of (U)Sheba, Assyria, and Chilmad were your merchants. 24 These were your merchants in choice items—in purple clothes, in embroidered garments, in chests of multicolored apparel, in sturdy woven cords, which were in your marketplace.
25 “The (V)ships of Tarshish were carriers of your merchandise.
You were filled and very glorious (W)in the midst of the seas.
26 Your oarsmen brought you into many waters,
But (X)the east wind broke you in the midst of the seas.
27 “Your (Y)riches, wares, and merchandise,
Your mariners and pilots,
Your caulkers and merchandisers,
All your men of war who are in you,
And the entire company which is in your midst,
Will fall into the midst of the seas on the day of your ruin.
28 The (Z)common-land[g] will shake at the sound of the cry of your pilots.
29 “All (AA)who handle the oar,
The mariners,
All the pilots of the sea
Will come down from their ships and stand on the [h]shore.
30 They will make their voice heard because of you;
They will cry bitterly and (AB)cast dust on their heads;
They (AC)will roll about in ashes;
31 They will (AD)shave themselves completely bald because of you,
Gird themselves with sackcloth,
And weep for you
With bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.
32 In their wailing for you
They will (AE)take up a lamentation,
And lament for you:
(AF)‘What city is like Tyre,
Destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33 ‘When(AG) your wares went out by sea,
You satisfied many people;
You enriched the kings of the earth
With your many luxury goods and your merchandise.
34 But (AH)you are broken by the seas in the depths of the waters;
(AI)Your merchandise and the entire company will fall in your midst.
35 (AJ)All the inhabitants of the isles will be astonished at you;
Their kings will be greatly afraid,
And their countenance will be troubled.
36 The merchants among the peoples (AK)will hiss at you;
(AL)You will become a horror, and be no (AM)more forever.’ ” ’ ”
