Profecía contra Tiro

26 Y sucedió que en el undécimo año, el día primero del mes, vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo: 2 Hijo de hombre, por cuanto Tiro(A) ha dicho acerca de Jerusalén: «¡Ajá!, la puerta(B) de los pueblos está rota, se abrió[a] para mí(C), me llenaré, ya que ella está asolada», 3 por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios[b]: «He aquí, estoy contra ti(D), Tiro, y haré subir contra ti muchas naciones, como el mar hace subir sus olas(E). 4 Y destruirán las murallas de Tiro y demolerán sus torres(F); barreré de ella sus escombros y la haré una roca[c] desnuda. 5 Será tendedero de redes en medio del mar, porque yo he hablado» —declara el Señor Dios— «y ella será despojo para las naciones(G). 6 Y sus hijas que están tierra adentro[d], serán muertas a espada(H); y sabrán que yo soy el Señor».

7 Porque así dice el Señor Dios: He aquí, traeré por el norte sobre Tiro a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, rey de reyes(I), con caballos, carros, jinetes y un gran ejército[e](J). 8 Matará a espada a tus hijas que están tierra adentro[f]. Edificará contra ti muros de asedio(K), levantará contra ti un terraplén y alzará contra ti un escudo grande(L). 9 Y dirigirá el golpe de sus arietes contra tus murallas, y con sus hachas[g] demolerá tus torres. 10 Por la multitud de sus caballos, su polvo te cubrirá; por el estruendo de la caballería, de las carretas[h] y de los carros(M), se estremecerán tus murallas(N) cuando entre él por tus puertas(O) como se entra en una ciudad en que se ha hecho brecha. 11 Con los cascos de sus caballos hollará todas tus calles(P), a tu pueblo matará a espada, y tus fuertes columnas caerán por tierra(Q). 12 También saquearán tus riquezas y robarán tus mercancías(R); demolerán tus murallas(S) y destruirán tus casas suntuosas(T), y arrojarán[i] al agua tus piedras, tus maderas y tus escombros(U). 13 Así haré cesar el ruido de tus canciones, y el son de tus arpas(V) no se oirá más(W). 14 Y haré de ti una roca[j] desnuda; serás un tendedero de redes. No volverás a ser edificada(X), porque yo, el Señor, he hablado —declara el Señor Dios(Y).

15 Así dice el Señor Dios a Tiro: Al estruendo(Z) de tu caída, cuando giman los heridos, cuando se haga la matanza en medio de ti, ¿no se estremecerán las costas(AA)? 16 Entonces descenderán de sus tronos todos los príncipes del mar, se quitarán sus mantos y se despojarán de sus vestiduras(AB) bordadas. Se vestirán de temores(AC), se sentarán en tierra, temblarán a cada momento y se horrorizarán a causa de ti(AD). 17 Elevarán una elegía por ti, y te dirán:

«¡Cómo has perecido, habitada de los mares(AE),
la ciudad renombrada,
que era poderosa en el mar(AF)!
Ella y sus habitantes,
infundían[k] terror
a todos sus vecinos[l](AG).
18 Ahora tiemblan las costas
por el día de tu caída(AH);
sí, las costas del[m] mar se espantan de tu fin(AI)».

19 Porque así dice el Señor Dios: Cuando yo te convierta en una ciudad desolada, como las ciudades despobladas; cuando haga subir sobre ti el abismo, y te cubran las grandes aguas(AJ), 20 entonces te haré descender con los que descienden a la fosa, con el pueblo de antaño(AK), y te haré habitar en las profundidades de la tierra(AL), como las antiguas ruinas, con los que descienden a la fosa, para que no seas habitada[n]; y pondré gloria en la tierra de los vivientes(AM). 21 Traeré sobre ti[o] terrores, y no existirás más(AN); aunque seas buscada, no serás encontrada jamás(AO) —declara el Señor Dios.

26 Aconteció en el undécimo año, en el día primero del mes, que vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo: 2 Hijo de hombre, por cuanto dijo Tiro(A) contra Jerusalén: Ea, bien; quebrantada está la que era puerta de las naciones; a mí se volvió; yo seré llena, y ella desierta; 3 por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: He aquí yo estoy contra ti, oh Tiro, y haré subir contra ti muchas naciones, como el mar hace subir sus olas. 4 Y demolerán los muros de Tiro, y derribarán sus torres; y barreré de ella hasta su polvo, y la dejaré como una peña lisa. 5 Tendedero de redes será en medio del mar, porque yo he hablado, dice Jehová el Señor; y será saqueada por las naciones. 6 Y sus hijas que están en el campo serán muertas a espada; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.

7 Porque así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: He aquí que del norte traigo yo contra Tiro a Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, rey de reyes, con caballos y carros y jinetes, y tropas y mucho pueblo. 8 Matará a espada a tus hijas que están en el campo, y pondrá contra ti torres de sitio, y levantará contra ti baluarte, y escudo afirmará contra ti. 9 Y pondrá contra ti arietes, contra tus muros, y tus torres destruirá con hachas. 10 Por la multitud de sus caballos te cubrirá el polvo de ellos; con el estruendo de su caballería y de las ruedas y de los carros, temblarán tus muros, cuando entre por tus puertas como por portillos de ciudad destruida. 11 Con los cascos de sus caballos hollará todas tus calles; a tu pueblo matará a filo de espada, y tus fuertes columnas caerán a tierra. 12 Y robarán tus riquezas y saquearán tus mercaderías; arruinarán tus muros, y tus casas preciosas destruirán; y pondrán tus piedras y tu madera y tu polvo en medio de las aguas. 13 Y haré cesar el estrépito de tus canciones, y no se oirá más el son de tus cítaras.(B) 14 Y te pondré como una peña lisa; tendedero de redes serás, y nunca más serás edificada; porque yo Jehová he hablado, dice Jehová el Señor.

15 Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor a Tiro: ¿No se estremecerán las costas al estruendo de tu caída, cuando griten los heridos, cuando se haga la matanza en medio de ti? 16 Entonces todos los príncipes del mar descenderán de sus tronos, y se quitarán sus mantos, y desnudarán sus ropas bordadas; de espanto se vestirán, se sentarán sobre la tierra, y temblarán a cada momento, y estarán atónitos sobre ti. 17 Y levantarán sobre ti endechas, y te dirán: ¿Cómo pereciste tú, poblada por gente de mar, ciudad que era alabada, que era fuerte en el mar, ella y sus habitantes, que infundían terror a todos los que la rodeaban? 18 Ahora se estremecerán las islas en el día de tu caída; sí, las islas que están en el mar se espantarán a causa de tu fin.(C)

19 Porque así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Yo te convertiré en ciudad asolada, como las ciudades que no se habitan; haré subir sobre ti el abismo, y las muchas aguas te cubrirán. 20 Y te haré descender con los que descienden al sepulcro, con los pueblos de otros siglos, y te pondré en las profundidades de la tierra, como los desiertos antiguos, con los que descienden al sepulcro, para que nunca más seas poblada; y daré gloria en la tierra de los vivientes. 21 Te convertiré en espanto, y dejarás de ser; serás buscada, y nunca más serás hallada,(D) dice Jehová el Señor.

26 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste: 3 therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up. 4 And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock. 5 It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God: and it shall become a spoil to the nations. 6 And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

7 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people. 8 He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee. 9 And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers. 10 By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach. 11 With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: he shall slay thy people by the sword, and thy strong garrisons shall go down to the ground. 12 And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise: and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water. 13 And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard. 14 And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the Lord have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

15 Thus saith the Lord God to Tyrus; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee? 16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee. 17 And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it! 18 Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure. 19 For thus saith the Lord God; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee; 20 when I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living; 21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God.
