Profecías contra naciones vecinas
25 Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo: 2 Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia los hijos de Amón, y profetiza contra ellos(A), 3 y di a los hijos de Amón: «Oíd la palabra del Señor Dios[a]. Así dice el Señor Dios(B): “Por cuanto dijiste: ‘¡Ajá!’ contra mi santuario cuando era profanado, y contra la tierra de Israel cuando era desolada, y contra la casa de Judá cuando iba en cautiverio, 4 por tanto, he aquí, te entregaré por posesión a los hijos del oriente, y asentarán en ti sus campamentos y pondrán en ti sus tiendas(C); ellos comerán tus frutos y ellos beberán tu leche(D). 5 Yo haré de Rabá un pastizal para camellos, y de las ciudades de los hijos de Amón(E) un descansadero para rebaños. Y sabréis que yo soy el Señor”. 6 Porque así dice el Señor Dios: “Por haber batido palmas(F) y golpeado con tus pies, por haberte alegrado con todo el escarnio de tu alma contra la tierra de Israel(G), 7 por tanto, he aquí, yo he extendido mi mano contra ti(H) y te daré por despojo a las naciones(I); te cortaré de entre los pueblos y te exterminaré de entre las tierras(J). Te destruiré(K); y sabrás que yo soy el Señor(L)”.
8 »Así dice el Señor Dios: “Por cuanto Moab(M) y Seir dicen: ‘He aquí, la casa de Judá es como todas las naciones’, 9 por tanto, he aquí, voy a abrir el flanco de Moab y privarla de sus ciudades, de las ciudades que están en sus fronteras[b], la gloria de la tierra, Bet-jesimot(N), Baal-meón(O) y Quiriataim(P), 10 y la daré en posesión a los hijos del oriente(Q), junto con los hijos de Amón, para que los hijos de Amón no sean recordados más entre las naciones. 11 Haré juicios contra Moab, y sabrán que yo soy el Señor”.
12 »Así dice el Señor Dios: “Por cuanto Edom ha obrado vengativamente contra la casa de Judá, ha incurrido en grave culpa y se ha vengado de ellos(R)”, 13 por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: “Yo extenderé también mi mano contra Edom y cortaré de ella hombres y animales(S) y la dejaré en ruinas; desde Temán(T) hasta Dedán(U) caerán a espada. 14 Pondré mi venganza contra Edom en mano de mi pueblo Israel, y harán en Edom(V) conforme a mi ira y conforme a mi furor; así conocerán mi venganza” —declara el Señor Dios(W).
15 »Así dice el Señor Dios: “Por cuanto los filisteos han obrado vengativamente y con desprecio de alma han tomado venganza, destruyendo por causa de perpetua enemistad(X)”, 16 por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: “He aquí, yo extenderé mi mano contra los filisteos, y cortaré a los cereteos y haré perecer a los que quedan en la costa del mar(Y). 17 Y ejecutaré contra ellos grandes venganzas con terribles represiones; y sabrán que yo soy el Señor cuando haga venir mi venganza sobre ellos(Z)”».

A Prophecy Against Ammon
25 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face against(A) the Ammonites(B) and prophesy against them.(C) 3 Say to them, ‘Hear the word of the Sovereign Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you said “Aha!(D)” over my sanctuary when it was desecrated(E) and over the land of Israel when it was laid waste and over the people of Judah when they went into exile,(F) 4 therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East(G) as a possession. They will set up their camps(H) and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.(I) 5 I will turn Rabbah(J) into a pasture for camels and Ammon into a resting place for sheep.(K) Then you will know that I am the Lord. 6 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you have clapped your hands(L) and stamped your feet, rejoicing with all the malice of your heart against the land of Israel,(M) 7 therefore I will stretch out my hand(N) against you and give you as plunder(O) to the nations. I will wipe you out from among the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy(P) you, and you will know that I am the Lord.(Q)’”
A Prophecy Against Moab
8 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because Moab(R) and Seir(S) said, “Look, Judah has become like all the other nations,” 9 therefore I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning at its frontier towns—Beth Jeshimoth(T), Baal Meon(U) and Kiriathaim(V)—the glory of that land. 10 I will give Moab along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, so that the Ammonites will not be remembered(W) among the nations; 11 and I will inflict punishment on Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”(X)
A Prophecy Against Edom
12 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because Edom(Y) took revenge on Judah and became very guilty by doing so, 13 therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand(Z) against Edom and kill both man and beast.(AA) I will lay it waste, and from Teman(AB) to Dedan(AC) they will fall by the sword.(AD) 14 I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger(AE) and my wrath; they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”(AF)
A Prophecy Against Philistia
15 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because the Philistines(AG) acted in vengeance and took revenge with malice(AH) in their hearts, and with ancient hostility sought to destroy Judah, 16 therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines,(AI) and I will wipe out the Kerethites(AJ) and destroy those remaining along the coast.(AK) 17 I will carry out great vengeance(AL) on them and punish(AM) them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the Lord,(AN) when I take vengeance on them.(AO)’”

25 (A)La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
2 «Figlio d’uomo, volgi la faccia verso i figli di Ammon, profetizza contro di loro,
3 e di’ ai figli di Ammon: “Ascoltate la parola del Signore, Dio!” Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Poiché tu hai detto: ‘Ah! ah!’, quando il mio santuario è stato profanato, quando il suolo d’Israele è stato desolato, quando la casa di Giuda è stata deportata,
4 ecco, io ti do in possesso dei figli dell’Oriente. Essi porranno in te i loro accampamenti e stabiliranno in mezzo a te le loro abitazioni; saranno essi che mangeranno i tuoi frutti, essi che berranno il tuo latte.
5 Io farò di Rabba un pascolo per i cammelli, del paese dei figli di Ammon un ovile per le pecore; voi conoscerete che io sono il Signore”.
6 Infatti così parla il Signore, Dio: “Poiché tu hai applaudito e battuto i piedi, ti sei rallegrata con tutto il disprezzo che avevi in cuore per la terra d’Israele,
7 ecco, io stendo la mia mano contro di te, ti do in pascolo alle nazioni, ti stermino in mezzo ai popoli, ti cancello dal numero dei paesi, ti distruggo e tu conoscerai che io sono il Signore”».
8 (B)«Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Poiché Moab e Seir dicono:
‘Ecco, la casa di Giuda è come tutte le altre nazioni!’,
9 ecco, io aprirò il fianco di Moab dal lato delle città, dal lato delle città che stanno alle sue frontiere e sono lo splendore del paese: Bet-Iesimot, Baal-Meon e Chiriataim.
10 Aprirò il fianco di Moab ai figli dell’Oriente, nello stesso modo in cui aprirò loro il fianco dei figli di Ammon. Darò questi paesi in loro possesso, affinché i figli di Ammon non siano più nominati fra le nazioni;
11 eseguirò i miei giudizi su Moab ed essi conosceranno che io sono il Signore”».
12 (C)«Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Poiché quelli di Edom si sono crudelmente vendicati della casa di Giuda e si sono resi gravemente colpevoli, vendicandosi di essa,
13 così parla il Signore, Dio: Io stenderò la mia mano contro Edom, ne sterminerò uomini e bestie, ne farò un deserto da Teman fino a Dedan; essi cadranno di spada.
14 Affiderò la mia vendetta contro Edom nelle mani del mio popolo Israele; esso tratterà Edom secondo la mia ira e secondo il mio furore; essi conosceranno la mia vendetta”, dice il Signore, Dio».
15 (D)«Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Poiché i Filistei si sono abbandonati alla vendetta e si sono crudelmente vendicati, con un cuore pieno di disprezzo, dandosi alla distruzione per odio antico,
16 così parla il Signore, Dio: Ecco, io stenderò la mia mano contro i Filistei, sterminerò i Cheretei e distruggerò il rimanente della costa del mare;
17 eseguirò su di loro grandi vendette, li riprenderò con furore, ed essi conosceranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò fatto loro sentire la mia vendetta”».
