Visión de la gloria de Dios

10 Después miré, y en el firmamento que estaba sobre las cabezas de los querubines, vi que apareció sobre ellos(A) como una piedra de zafiro de apariencia semejante a un trono(B). 2 Y el Señor le dijo al hombre vestido de lino: «Entra en medio de las ruedas(C) debajo de los querubines, llena tus manos de carbones encendidos de entre los querubines y espárcelos sobre la ciudad(D)». Y el hombre entró ante mis ojos.

3 Los querubines estaban de pie a la derecha del templo(E) cuando el hombre entró, y la nube llenaba el atrio interior. 4 Entonces la gloria del Señor subió del querubín hacia el umbral del templo(F), y el templo se llenó de la nube, y el atrio se llenó del resplandor de la gloria del Señor(G). 5 El ruido de las alas de los querubines se oía hasta el atrio exterior, como la voz del Dios Todopoderoso[a] cuando habla(H).

6 Cuando Él le ordenó al hombre vestido de lino: «Toma fuego de entre las ruedas, de entre los querubines», él entró y se paró junto a una rueda. 7 El querubín extendió su mano de entre los querubines hacia el fuego que estaba entre ellos, lo tomó y lo puso en las manos del que estaba vestido de lino, el cual lo tomó y salió. 8 Debajo de sus alas los querubines parecían tener la forma de la mano de un hombre.

9 (I)Entonces miré, y vi cuatro ruedas junto a los querubines, cada rueda junto a cada querubín; el aspecto de las ruedas era como el brillo de una piedra de Tarsis(J). 10 En cuanto a su apariencia, las cuatro tenían la misma semejanza, como si una rueda estuviera dentro de la otra rueda. 11 Cuando andaban, se movían en las cuatro direcciones, sin volverse cuando andaban, sino que seguían la dirección en que ponían el rostro[b], sin volverse cuando andaban(K). 12 Y todo su cuerpo, sus espaldas, sus manos, sus alas y las ruedas estaban llenos de ojos alrededor(L), las ruedas de los cuatro(M). 13 A las ruedas se les llamó «torbellino», y yo lo oí. 14 Y cada uno de los querubines tenía cuatro caras. La primera cara era la cara de un querubín; la segunda, la cara de un hombre; la tercera, la cara de un león; y la cuarta, la cara de un águila(N).

15 Entonces los querubines se levantaron. Estos eran los seres vivientes que yo había visto en el río Quebar(O). 16 Cuando los querubines andaban, las ruedas andaban a su lado; y cuando los querubines alzaban sus alas para elevarse del suelo, las ruedas no se apartaban de su lado. 17 Cuando los querubines se detenían, las ruedas se detenían, y cuando se levantaban, las ruedas se levantaban con ellos, porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en ellas(P).

18 Entonces la gloria del Señor salió de sobre el umbral del templo y se puso sobre los querubines(Q). 19 Cuando los querubines alzaron sus alas y se elevaron del suelo ante mis ojos salieron con las ruedas a su lado, y se detuvieron a la entrada de la puerta oriental de la casa del Señor. Y la gloria del Dios de Israel estaba por encima, sobre ellos(R).

20 Estos eran los seres vivientes que yo había visto debajo del Dios de Israel junto al río Quebar(S); entonces supe que eran querubines(T). 21 Cada uno tenía cuatro caras y cada uno cuatro alas, y había una semejanza de manos de hombre debajo de sus alas(U). 22 En cuanto a la forma de sus caras, eran las mismas caras cuya apariencia yo había visto junto al río Quebar. Cada uno caminaba derecho hacia adelante.

La gloria del Señor abandona el Templo

10 Miré y vi la semejanza de un trono de piedra de zafiro sobre la expansión que estaba encima de la cabeza de los querubines. 2 Y el Señor dijo al hombre vestido de tela de lino: «Métete entre las ruedas que están debajo de los querubines, toma un puñado de las brasas que están entre ellos y espárcelas por toda la ciudad». Y el hombre se metió allí, mientras yo miraba.

3 En el momento en que el hombre entró, los querubines estaban en la parte sur del Templo y una nube llenaba el atrio interior. 4 Entonces la gloria del Señor, que estaba sobre los querubines, se elevó y se dirigió hacia el umbral del Templo. La nube llenó el Templo, y el atrio se llenó del resplandor de la gloria del Señor. 5 El ruido de las alas de los querubines llegaba hasta el atrio exterior y era semejante a la voz del Dios Todopoderoso.

6 El Señor ordenó al hombre vestido de tela de lino: «Toma fuego de en medio de las ruedas que están entre los querubines». Así que el hombre fue y se paró junto a una rueda. 7 Uno de los querubines extendió la mano, tomó el fuego que estaba entre ellos y lo puso en las manos del hombre vestido de tela de lino, quien lo recibió y se fue. 8 Debajo de las alas de los querubines se veía algo semejante a manos humanas.

9 Me fijé, y al lado de los querubines vi cuatro ruedas, una junto a cada uno de ellos. Las ruedas tenían un aspecto brillante como el topacio. 10 Las cuatro ruedas se asemejaban y parecía como si una rueda estuviera encajada en la otra. 11 Al avanzar, podían hacerlo en las cuatro direcciones sin necesidad de volverse. Avanzaban en la dirección a que apuntaba la cabeza del querubín, y no tenían que volverse. 12 Todo el cuerpo, la espalda, las manos y las alas de los querubines, al igual que las cuatro ruedas, estaban llenos de ojos. 13 Alcancé a oír que a las ruedas se les llamaba «ruedas giratorias».[a] 14 Cada uno de los querubines tenía cuatro caras: la primera, de querubín; la segunda, de hombre; la tercera, de león; y la cuarta, de águila.

15 Los querubines, que eran los mismos seres que yo había visto junto al río Quebar, se elevaron. 16 Cuando avanzaban, las ruedas a su costado hacían lo mismo; cuando desplegaban sus alas para levantarse del suelo, las ruedas no se apartaban de ellos; 17 cuando se detenían, las ruedas hacían lo mismo; cuando se levantaban, las ruedas se levantaban también, porque el espíritu de esos seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas.

18 La gloria del Señor se elevó por encima del umbral del Templo y se detuvo sobre los querubines. 19 Y mientras yo miraba, los querubines desplegaron sus alas y se elevaron del suelo y, junto con las ruedas, salieron y se detuvieron en la puerta oriental del Templo del Señor. La gloria del Dios de Israel estaba por encima de ellos.

20 Eran los mismos seres vivientes que, estando yo junto al río Quebar, había visto debajo del Dios de Israel. Entonces me di cuenta de que eran querubines. 21 Cada uno tenía cuatro caras y cuatro alas; bajo las alas tenían algo que parecía manos humanas. 22 Sus caras eran iguales a las que yo había visto junto al río Quebar. Cada uno de ellos caminaba de frente.

God’s Glory Departs From the Temple

10 I looked, and I saw the likeness of a throne(A) of lapis lazuli(B) above the vault(C) that was over the heads of the cherubim.(D) 2 The Lord said to the man clothed in linen,(E) “Go in among the wheels(F) beneath the cherubim. Fill(G) your hands with burning coals(H) from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city.” And as I watched, he went in.

3 Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple when the man went in, and a cloud filled the inner court. 4 Then the glory of the Lord(I) rose from above the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord. 5 The sound of the wings of the cherubim could be heard as far away as the outer court, like the voice(J) of God Almighty[a] when he speaks.(K)

6 When the Lord commanded the man in linen, “Take fire from among the wheels,(L) from among the cherubim,” the man went in and stood beside a wheel. 7 Then one of the cherubim reached out his hand to the fire(M) that was among them. He took up some of it and put it into the hands of the man in linen, who took it and went out. 8 (Under the wings of the cherubim could be seen what looked like human hands.)(N)

9 I looked, and I saw beside the cherubim four wheels, one beside each of the cherubim; the wheels sparkled like topaz.(O) 10 As for their appearance, the four of them looked alike; each was like a wheel intersecting a wheel. 11 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the cherubim faced; the wheels did not turn about[b] as the cherubim went. The cherubim went in whatever direction the head faced, without turning as they went. 12 Their entire bodies, including their backs, their hands and their wings, were completely full of eyes,(P) as were their four wheels.(Q) 13 I heard the wheels being called “the whirling wheels.” 14 Each of the cherubim(R) had four faces:(S) One face was that of a cherub, the second the face of a human being, the third the face of a lion,(T) and the fourth the face of an eagle.(U)

15 Then the cherubim rose upward. These were the living creatures(V) I had seen by the Kebar River.(W) 16 When the cherubim moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the cherubim spread their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels did not leave their side. 17 When the cherubim stood still, they also stood still; and when the cherubim rose, they rose with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in them.(X)

18 Then the glory(Y) of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.(Z) 19 While I watched, the cherubim spread their wings and rose from the ground, and as they went, the wheels went with them.(AA) They stopped at the entrance of the east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory(AB) of the God of Israel was above them.

20 These were the living creatures I had seen beneath the God of Israel by the Kebar River,(AC) and I realized that they were cherubim. 21 Each had four faces(AD) and four wings,(AE) and under their wings was what looked like human hands. 22 Their faces had the same appearance as those I had seen by the Kebar River.(AF) Each one went straight ahead.

10 And I looked, and there in the (A)firmament[a] that was above the head of the cherubim, there appeared something like a sapphire stone, having the appearance of the likeness of a throne. 2 (B)Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, “Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with (C)coals of fire from among the cherubim, and (D)scatter them over the city.” And he went in as I watched.

3 Now the cherubim were standing on the [b]south side of the [c]temple when the man went in, and the (E)cloud filled the inner court. 4 (F)Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the [d]temple; and (G)the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord’s (H)glory. 5 And the (I)sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like (J)the voice of Almighty God when He speaks.

6 Then it happened, when He commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, “Take fire from among the wheels, from among the cherubim,” that he went in and stood beside the wheels. 7 And the cherub stretched out his hand from among the cherubim to the fire that was among the cherubim, and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed with linen, who took it and went out. 8 (K)The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man’s hand under their wings.

9 (L)And when I looked, there were four wheels by the cherubim, one wheel by one cherub and another wheel by each other cherub; the wheels appeared to have the color of a (M)beryl stone. 10 As for their appearance, all four looked alike—as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 11 (N)When they went, they went toward any of their four directions; they did not turn aside when they went, but followed in the direction the head was facing. They did not turn aside when they went. 12 And their whole body, with their back, their hands, their wings, and the wheels that the four had, were (O)full of eyes all around. 13 As for the wheels, they were called in my [e]hearing, “Wheel.”

14 (P)Each one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, the second face the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. 15 And the cherubim were lifted up. This was (Q)the living creature I saw by the River Chebar. 16 (R)When the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also did not turn from beside them. 17 (S)When [f]the cherubim stood still, the wheels stood still, and when [g]one was lifted up, [h]the other lifted itself up, for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

18 Then (T)the glory of the Lord (U)departed from the threshold of the [i]temple and stood over the cherubim. 19 And (V)the cherubim lifted their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight. When they went out, the wheels were beside them; and they stood at the door of the (W)east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

20 (X)This is the living creature I saw under the God of Israel (Y)by the River Chebar, and I knew they were cherubim. 21 (Z)Each one had four faces and each one four wings, and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. 22 And (AA)the likeness of their faces was the same as the faces which I had seen by the River Chebar, their appearance and their persons. (AB)They each went straight forward.
