Ezequiel denuncia la idolatría
6 El Señor se dirigió a mí, y me dijo: 2 «Mira hacia los montes de Israel, y háblales en mi nombre 3 de la siguiente manera: “Escuchen, montes de Israel, lo que dice el Señor a los montes, las colinas, los ríos y los valles: Voy a hacer venir sobre ustedes la guerra, y a destruir sus lugares altos de culto pagano. 4 Haré pedazos los altares donde ustedes ofrecen sacrificios y queman incienso, y haré que sus hombres caigan muertos delante de los ídolos. 5 Arrojaré los cadáveres de los israelitas delante de sus ídolos, y esparciré sus huesos alrededor de sus altares. 6 En todos los lugares donde ustedes vivan, las ciudades serán destruidas y sus altares de culto pagano quedarán en ruinas. Sus altares quedarán completamente destruidos, sus ídolos, hechos pedazos; sus altares para quemar incienso, derrumbados; todo lo que ustedes han hecho desaparecerá. 7 Y cuando vean caer muerta entre ustedes a tanta gente, reconocerán que yo soy el Señor. 8 Pero yo haré que algunos de ustedes se salven de la muerte y queden con vida, esparcidos entre las naciones. 9 Los sobrevivientes se acordarán de mí en esas naciones; se acordarán de cómo los hice sufrir por haberme sido infieles y por haberse apartado de mí para adorar ídolos. Ellos sentirán asco de sí mismos por todas las maldades que han hecho, por todas sus acciones detestables. 10 Entonces reconocerán que yo soy el Señor y que, cuando prometí enviarles estos males, no hice vanas amenazas.”»
11 El Señor me dijo: «Laméntate dando golpes con las manos y los pies; lanza gritos de dolor por las maldades detestables del pueblo de Israel, pues va a morir por causa de la guerra, el hambre y las enfermedades. 12 Los que estén lejos morirán por las enfermedades, los que estén cerca morirán en la guerra, y los que queden con vida morirán de hambre. Así acabaré de descargar mi ira contra ellos. 13 Y cuando vean los cadáveres de esa gente entre sus ídolos y alrededor de los altares, en todas las colinas elevadas, en las cumbres de los montes, debajo de todo árbol verde, debajo de toda encina frondosa, y en los lugares en que ofrecieron a sus ídolos perfumes agradables, entonces reconocerán que yo soy el Señor. 14 Levantaré mi mano para castigarlos y, desde el desierto del sur hasta Riblá en el norte, convertiré su país y todos sus lugares habitados en un desierto espantoso. Entonces reconocerán que yo soy el Señor.»

Prophecies Against the Mountains
6 Again the Lord spoke his word to me. The Lord said, 2 “Human being, look toward the mountains of Israel. Prophesy against them. 3 Say, ‘Mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the Lord God. The Lord God says this to the mountains, the hills, the ravines and the valleys: I will bring a sword against you. I will destroy your places of idol worship. 4 Your altars will be destroyed. Your incense altars will be broken down. Your people will be killed in front of your idols. 5 I will lay the dead bodies of the Israelites before their idols. And I will scatter your bones around your altars. 6 In all the places you live, cities will become empty. And the places of idol worship will be ruined. Your altars will become lonely ruins. Your idols will be broken and brought to an end. Your incense altars will be cut down. And the things you made will be wiped out. 7 Your people will be killed and fall among you. Then you will know that I am the Lord God.
8 “‘But I will leave some people alive. Some will not be killed by the nations when you are scattered among the foreign lands. 9 Then those who have escaped will remember me. They will be living among the nations where they have been taken as captives. They will remember how I was hurt because they were unfaithful to me. They had turned away from me. They will remember how I was hurt because they desired to worship their idols. They will hate themselves because of the evil things they did that I hate. 10 Then they will know that I am the Lord. I did not bring this terrible thing on them for no reason.
11 “‘This is what the Lord God says: Clap your hands, stamp your feet. Say, “Oh!” because the people of Israel have done terrible things. So they will die by war, hunger and disease. 12 The person who is far away will die by disease. The one who is nearby will die in war. The person who is still alive and has escaped these will die from hunger. So I will carry out my anger on them. 13 Their people will lie dead among their idols around the altars. They will be on every high hill, on all the mountain tops and under every green tree and leafy oak. These are the places where they offered sweet-smelling incense to their idols. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 14 I will use my power against them. I will make the land empty and wasted from the desert to Diblah, wherever they live. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”
