Ezekiel 5:2-4
New English Translation
2 Burn a third of it in the fire inside the city when the days of your siege are completed. Take a third and slash it with a sword all around the city. Scatter a third to the wind, and I will unleash a sword behind them. 3 But take a few strands of hair[a] from those and tie them in the ends of your garment.[b] 4 Again, take more of them and throw them into the fire,[c] and burn them up. From there a fire will spread to all the house of Israel.

2 When the days of your siege come to an end, burn(A) a third(B) of the hair inside the city. Take a third and strike it with the sword all around the city. And scatter a third to the wind.(C) For I will pursue them with drawn sword.(D) 3 But take a few hairs and tuck them away in the folds of your garment.(E) 4 Again, take a few of these and throw them into the fire(F) and burn them up. A fire will spread from there to all Israel.
