The Prince’s Offerings

46 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The gate of the inner court that faces east[a] will be closed six working days, but on the Sabbath day it will be opened and on the day of the new moon it will be opened. 2 The prince will enter by way of the porch of the gate from the outside and will stand by the doorpost of the gate. The priests will provide his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he will bow down at the threshold of the gate and then go out. But the gate will not be closed until evening. 3 The people of the land will bow down at the entrance of that gate before the Lord on the Sabbaths and on the new moons. 4 The burnt offering that the prince will offer to the Lord on the Sabbath day will be six unblemished lambs and one unblemished ram. 5 The grain offering will be an ephah with the ram, and the grain offering with the lambs will be as much as he is able to give,[b] and a gallon[c] of olive oil with an ephah. 6 On the day of the new moon he will offer[d] an unblemished young bull and six lambs and a ram, all without blemish. 7 He will provide a grain offering: an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as he wishes,[e] and a gallon[f] of olive oil with each ephah of grain.[g] 8 When the prince enters, he will come by way of the porch of the gate and will go out the same way.

9 “‘When the people of the land come before the Lord at the appointed feasts, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship will go out by way of the south gate; whoever enters by way of the south gate will go out by way of the north gate. No one will return by way of the gate they entered but will go out straight ahead. 10 When they come in, the prince will come in with them, and when they go out, he will go out.

11 “‘At the festivals and at the appointed feasts the grain offering will be an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as one is able,[h] and a gallon[i] of olive oil with each ephah of grain.[j] 12 When the prince provides a freewill offering, a burnt offering, or peace offerings as a voluntary offering to the Lord, the gate facing east will be opened for him, and he will provide his burnt offering and his peace offerings just as he did on the Sabbath. Then he will go out, and the gate will be closed after he goes out.[k]

13 “‘You[l] will provide a lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering daily to the Lord; morning by morning he will provide it. 14 And you[m] will provide a grain offering with it morning by morning, a sixth of an ephah, and a third of a gallon[n] of olive oil to moisten the choice flour, as a grain offering to the Lord; this is a perpetual statute. 15 Thus they will provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the olive oil morning by morning, as a perpetual burnt offering.

16 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: If the prince should give a gift to one of his sons as[o] his inheritance, it will belong to his sons; it is their property by inheritance. 17 But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it will be his until the year of liberty;[p] then it will revert to the prince. His inheritance will only remain with his sons. 18 The prince will not take away any of the people’s inheritance by oppressively removing them from their property. He will give his sons an inheritance from his own possessions so that my people will not be scattered, each from his own property.’”

19 Then he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests, which faced north. There I saw[q] a place at the extreme western end. 20 He said to me, “This is the place where the priests will boil the guilt offering and the sin offering, and where they will bake the grain offering, so that they do not bring them out to the outer court to transmit holiness to the people.”

21 Then he brought me out to the outer court and led me past the four corners of the court, and I noticed[r] that in every corner of the court there was a court. 22 In the four corners of the court were small[s] courts, 70 feet[t] in length and 52½ feet[u] in width; the four were all the same size. 23 There was a row of masonry around each of the four courts, and places for boiling offerings were made under the rows all around. 24 Then he said to me, “These are the houses for boiling, where the ministers of the temple boil the sacrifices of the people.”

46 Gospodar BOG kaže: »Vrata unutrašnjeg dvorišta, koja gledaju na istok, neka budu zatvorena tijekom šest radnih dana. Otvorite ih na šabat, dan odmora, i na dan mladog mjeseca. 2 Vladar će ulaziti kroz ulazni prostor ovih vrata i zaustaviti se kod njihovih stupova. Tada će svećenici prinijeti njegovu žrtvu paljenicu i žrtvu slavljenicu, a on će se pokloniti na pragu istočnih vrata. Potom će izaći, a vrata se neće zatvarati sve do večeri. 3 Narod će se na dane odmora i dane mladog mjeseca klanjati pred BOGOM na pragu tih istih vrata.

6 Na dan mladog mjeseca vladar neka prinese mladog bika, šest janjaca i jednog ovna. Sve životinje moraju biti bez tjelesne mane. 7 Uz mladog bika i uz ovna mora priložiti po jednu košaru žitne žrtve, a uz janjce može priložiti koliko želi. Uz svaku košaru žitne žrtve ide po jedan veliki vrč ulja. 8 Vladar neka uđe kroz ulazni prostor istočnih vrata, a istim putem treba izaći van.

9 Kada za blagdane narod dolazi pred BOGA, onaj tko uđe na sjeverna vrata, da bi iskazao štovanje, treba izaći na južna, a tko uđe na južna vrata, treba izaći na sjeverna. Ljudi se ne smiju vraćati kroz ista vrata na koja su ušli, već se samo trebaju kretati ravno naprijed. 10 Kada uđu, vladar treba ući zajedno s njima. Kada izađu, s njima treba izaći i vladar.

11 Na praznike i blagdane, uz mladog bika i uz ovna, treba priložiti žitne žrtve, po jednu košaru. Količina žitne žrtve, koja se prilaže uz janjce, po želji je vladara. Uz svaku košaru žitne žrtve neka ide po jedan veliki vrč ulja.

12 Kada vladar prinosi dragovoljnu žrtvu BOGU, bilo da se radi o žrtvi paljenici ili žrtvi slavljenici, istočna se vrata za njega trebaju otvoriti. On će tada svoju žrtvu paljenicu i žrtvu slavljenicu prinijeti isto kao na šabat, dan odmora. Kad izađe, vrata se za njim zatvaraju.

Dnevni prinos žrtava

Vladar i nasljeđivanje zemlje

16 Gospodar BOG kaže: »Ako vladar daruje bilo kojem od svojih sinova dio svoga nasljedstva, ta će zemlja pripasti u posjed tome sinu i njegovim potomcima. 17 Ali, ako vladar daruje dio svoga nasljedstva jednom od svojih slugu, ta će zemlja njemu pripadati samo do godine njegovog oslobođenja[e]. Nakon toga, vraća se vladaru u posjed. Samo sinovi vladara mogu zadržati vlasništvo nad zemljom vladara. 18 Vladar ne smije uzimati zemlju od ljudi iz naroda, niti ih prisiljavati da napuste svoju zemlju. Svojim će sinovima osigurati nasljedstvo od svog vlasništva. Tako nitko iz mog naroda neće prisilno ostati bez svoje zemlje.«

Hramske kuhinje

19 Tada me vodič uveo kroz jedan ulaz koji se nalazio pored hramskih vrata. Odveo me do svetih prostorija za svećenike, sa sjeverne strane. Tu sam ugledao prostor na krajnjoj zapadnoj strani prolaza. 20 Rekao mi je: »Ovdje će svećenici kuhati žrtve naknadnice i žrtve očišćenja te peći žitne žrtve. Tako neće iznositi što je sveto u vanjsko dvorište, među ljude, koji bi mogli nastradati u doticaju sa svetim žrtvama.«

21 Onda me izveo u vanjsko dvorište i vodio od jednog do drugog ugla dvorišta. U svakom od četiri ugla dvorišta bilo je još jedno manje dvorište. 22 U četiri ugla vanjskog dvorišta nalazili su se ograđeni prostori jednake veličine, dužine dvadeset metara[f], a širine petnaest metara.[g] 23 Svako to malo dvorište bilo je ograđeno kamenim zidom u koji su bila ugrađena ognjišta za kuhanje. 24 Moj je vodič rekao: »Ovo su kuhinje gdje će hramski službenici kuhati žrtve koje prinosi narod.«

The priests are to sacrifice his burnt offering(E) and his fellowship offerings. 12 “‘When the prince provides(R) a freewill offering(S) to the Lord—whether a burnt offering or fellowship offerings—the gate facing east is to be opened for him. He shall offer his burnt offering or his fellowship offerings as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out, the gate will be shut.(T)

13 “‘Every day you are to provide a year-old lamb without defect for a burnt offering to the Lord; morning by morning(U) you shall provide it.(V) 14 You are also to provide with it morning by morning a grain offering, consisting of a sixth of an ephah[c] with a third of a hin[d] of oil(W) to moisten the flour. The presenting of this grain offering to the Lord is a lasting ordinance.(X) 15 So the lamb and the grain offering and the oil shall be provided morning by morning for a regular(Y) burnt offering.(Z)

16 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: If the prince makes a gift from his inheritance to one of his sons, it will also belong to his descendants; it is to be their property by inheritance.(AA) 17 If, however, he makes a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, the servant may keep it until the year of freedom;(AB) then it will revert to the prince. His inheritance belongs to his sons only; it is theirs. 18 The prince must not take(AC) any of the inheritance(AD) of the people, driving them off their property. He is to give his sons their inheritance out of his own property, so that not one of my people will be separated from their property.’”

19 Then the man brought me through the entrance(AE) at the side of the gate to the sacred rooms facing north,(AF) which belonged to the priests, and showed me a place at the western end. 20 He said to me, “This is the place where the priests are to cook the guilt offering and the sin offering[e] and bake the grain offering, to avoid bringing them into the outer court and consecrating(AG) the people.”(AH)

21 He then brought me to the outer court and led me around to its four corners, and I saw in each corner another court. 22 In the four corners of the outer court were enclosed[f] courts, forty cubits long and thirty cubits wide;[g] each of the courts in the four corners was the same size. 23 Around the inside of each of the four courts was a ledge of stone, with places for fire built all around under the ledge. 24 He said to me, “These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple are to cook the sacrifices of the people.”

46 Thus saith the Lord God; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

2 And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.

3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the Lord in the sabbaths and in the new moons.

4 And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer unto the Lord in the sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish.

5 And the meat offering shall be an ephah for a ram, and the meat offering for the lambs as he shall be able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.

6 And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish.

7 And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah.

10 And the prince in the midst of them, when they go in, shall go in; and when they go forth, shall go forth.

11 And in the feasts and in the solemnities the meat offering shall be an ephah to a bullock, and an ephah to a ram, and to the lambs as he is able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.

12 Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings voluntarily unto the Lord, one shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate.

13 Thou shalt daily prepare a burnt offering unto the Lord of a lamb of the first year without blemish: thou shalt prepare it every morning.

14 And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of an hin of oil, to temper with the fine flour; a meat offering continually by a perpetual ordinance unto the Lord.

15 Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning for a continual burnt offering.

16 Thus saith the Lord God; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons'; it shall be their possession by inheritance.

17 But if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his inheritance shall be his sons' for them.

18 Moreover the prince shall not take of the people's inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession; but he shall give his sons inheritance out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered every man from his possession.

19 After he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the two sides westward.

20 Then said he unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass offering and the sin offering, where they shall bake the meat offering; that they bear them not out into the utter court, to sanctify the people.

21 Then he brought me forth into the utter court, and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and, behold, in every corner of the court there was a court.

22 In the four corners of the court there were courts joined of forty cubits long and thirty broad: these four corners were of one measure.

23 And there was a row of building round about in them, round about them four, and it was made with boiling places under the rows round about.

24 Then said he unto me, These are the places of them that boil, where the ministers of the house shall boil the sacrifice of the people.

The Prince and Inheritance Laws

16 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “If the prince gives a gift of some of his inheritance to any of his sons, it shall belong to his sons; it is their possession by inheritance. 17 But if he gives a gift of some of his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall be his until (M)the year of liberty, after which it shall return to the prince. But his inheritance shall belong to his sons; it shall become theirs. 18 Moreover (N)the prince shall not take any of the people’s inheritance by evicting them from their property; he shall provide an inheritance for his sons from his own property, so that none of My people may be scattered from his property.” ’ ”

How the Offerings Were Prepared

19 Now he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy (O)chambers of the priests which face toward the north; and there a place was situated at their extreme western end. 20 And he said to me, “This is the place where the priests shall (P)boil the trespass offering and the sin offering, and where they shall (Q)bake the grain offering, so that they do not bring them out into the outer court (R)to sanctify the people.”

21 Then he brought me out into the outer court and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and in fact, in every corner of the court there was another court. 22 In the four corners of the court were enclosed courts, forty cubits long and thirty wide; all four corners were the same size. 23 There was a row of building stones all around in them, all around the four of them; and [d]cooking hearths were made under the rows of stones all around. 24 And he said to me, “These are the [e]kitchens where the ministers of the [f]temple shall (S)boil the sacrifices of the people.”
