Ezekiel 44:9-14

9 “This is what the Lord God says: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, may enter My sanctuary, not even a foreigner who is among the Israelites. 10 Surely the Levites who wandered away from Me when Israel went astray, and who strayed from Me after their idols,(A) will bear the consequences of their sin.(B) 11 Yet they will occupy My sanctuary, serving as guards at the temple gates(C) and ministering at the temple. They will slaughter the burnt offerings(D) and other sacrifices for the people and will stand before them to serve them.(E) 12 Because they ministered to the house of Israel before their idols and became a sinful stumbling block to them, therefore I swore an oath[a] against them”(F)—this is the declaration of the Lord God—“that they would bear the consequences of their sin. 13 They must not approach Me to serve Me as priests(G) or come near any of My holy things or the most holy things. They will bear their disgrace and the consequences of the detestable acts they committed. 14 Yet I will make them responsible for the duties of the temple(H)—for all its work and everything done in it.

9 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Every foreigner[a] uncircumcised of heart and uncircumcised of flesh shall not come into my sanctuary—not any of the foreigners[b] who are in the midst of the Israelites.[c] 10 But[d] the Levites who removed themselves from me at the going astray of Israel,[e] who went astray from me and went after their idols, as a result they will bear their guilt. 11 Then they will be[f] in my sanctuary, those serving in my sanctuary, as sentries[g] at the gates of the temple[h] and as those serving the temple;[i] they will slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they will stand before them[j] to serve them, 12 because[k] they used to serve them before[l] their idols and they were for the house of Israel like a stumbling block of iniquity. Therefore I swore[m] concerning them,” declares[n] the Lord Yahweh, “that they will bear their iniquity. 13 And they shall not approach me to serve as a priest for me and to come near to all of[o] my holy objects, to the most holy objects, [p] and they will bear their disgrace and the results of their detestable things they have done. 14 And I will appoint them as the keepers of the responsibility of[q] the temple, for all of its work[r] and everything [s]which will be done in it.
