13 “These are the measurements of the altar(A) in units of length (each unit being the standard length plus three inches(B)):[a] the gutter is 21 inches[b] deep and 21 inches wide, with a rim of nine inches[c] around its edge. This is the base[d] of the altar. 14 The distance from the gutter on the ground to the lower ledge is 3½ feet,[e] and the width of the ledge is 21 inches.[f] There are seven feet[g] from the small ledge to the large ledge, whose width is also 21 inches. 15 The altar hearth[h] is seven feet[i] high, and four horns(C) project upward from the hearth. 16 The hearth is square, 21 feet[j] long by 21 feet wide.(D) 17 The ledge is 24½ feet[k] long by 24½ feet wide, with four equal sides.(E) The rim all around it is 10½ inches,[l] and its gutter is 21 inches[m] all around it. 13 “Here are the measurements of the altar in cubits that were a cubit and a handbreadth[a] long: its base is a cubit[b] long and a cubit[c] wide, and its border around the edge at one handbreadth[d] is to be the height of the altar. 14 From the base on the ground to its lower edge is to be two cubits,[e] with its width to be one cubit.[f] From the lesser ledge to the larger edge is to be four cubits.[g] Its width is to be one cubit.[h] 15 The hearth is to be four cubits high,[i] and four horns are to extend upwards from the hearth. 16 The hearth is to be twelve cubits[j] long and twelve cubits[k] wide; that is, it will be a four-sided square. 17 It is to have a ledge fourteen cubits[l] long by fourteen cubits[m] wide around the four sides. Its border is to be half a cubit[n] and its base is to be a cubit[o] all around, with its steps facing east.”
